Looks are not even skin deep
I owe a few of my fellow Texas farmers and makers a post. ❤️
Tuesday night I made dinner using products from some pretty incredible local businesses. I took a picture, looked at it and thought, “Well… that doesn’t look nearly as pretty as I hoped.” 😂 So I didn’t post it.
And honestly, I did a disservice to friends and to the farmers and makers whose hard work was sitting right there on our dinner table.
Because supporting local isn’t supposed to be about whether I can take the perfect picture.
That dinner was made with radiatori super food pasta from , ground meat from Henneke Farms, goat cheese from Goatilicious, and onions from South Texas Pecans, sun-dried tomatoes and olive oil from Poni Colletti and carrots and herbs from our farm.
These are real people growing, raising and making real food right here in Texas — and that deserves to be shared even when my dinner isn’t Instagram pretty. ❤️
One of the best parts of being part of the Texas market community is getting to know the people behind the food we bring home.
So here it is. The not-so-pretty picture of a REALLY good dinner made possible by some really good people. ❤️
