What was your % calf weaned per cow exposed and what percentage of her body weight did she wean off? These are Real numbers, Real raw data that measures the efficiency of a cowherd. You will also need to incorporate your Environment/Management to measure your Profitability.
💭 Imagine taking 300 # off your mature cow size, that 300 # requires 1 ton of feed ($100-200/hd). Reducing requirements enables estrus to occur 17 days quicker. @ 3 #/da = 51 # @ $1.80 = $91.80. Imagine a cow that can save you $200-300 PER HEAD.
🔝The caps been set, the only way to raise it is with more inputs. We feel confident in the changes we’ve made. It was the last drought that reinforced the idea of running a more moderate-framed cow. And with Nebraska Property taxes, the best way I know to combat that is by running more AU/Acre.
