Something made me tear up tonight as I finished this order. It may have been due to pure exhaustion, but we aren't going to say that. 😅
When I think back to four years ago this October, I think about a vision that I prayed so hard for.
I prayed for God to give me an idea to help out my struggling little family. I was a stay-at-home mom at the time and wanted to help us try to get ahead. He gave me apples. I went to Publix (their Granny Smith apples were on sale that week) and purchased the stuff I needed to make 20 apples. I bought 24-inch dowels from Hobby Lobby, cut them in half with heavy-duty scissors, and sharpened them with a new pencil sharpener. I bought bags and 'Thank you' tags.
I posted them in the hopes I wouldn't be stuck with all of them. I sold out within an hour of posting. 🥹 So then I made more, and more, and more. I stayed up after the kids were in bed and watched YouTube videos on how to do different apples - chocolate, white chocolate, nuts, Oreo, etc. I practiced over and over again, trying new recipes until I finally came up with the perfect batch of 'made-from-scratch caramel.'
Then I branched out and tried more things with chocolate - Oreos, strawberries, treat boxes, smash hearts - and everything I tried, you guys bought. You guys supported me from the very beginning - from the vision to the product to the business.
The business that has kept food on our table, the business that has paid school fees, the business that has kept a roof over our heads, the vision that kept my car payment paid and gas to get us places.
I don't say any of this to say 'look at me.' I say all of this to say 'look at God.' He knew what this business would mean to me four years later - the customers that I would meet and make lifetime friends with, the closeness that it would bring my kids and me as we stand and stamp every single box, place labels and bows on every single apple.
I am forever grateful for this little side hustle of mine, and I pray that you guys continue to allow me to make sweets, support your schools and sports, bring a smile to a loved one's face, say 'I love you' until my fingers can't twist another apple or dip another strawberry. 🍓 ♥️ 🥹
I love you 💕- T
