Mossy Brook Poultry NPIP certified, small family-run hobby farm and chick hatchery located in Cullman, AL. As with any fertilized eggs we cannot guarantee hatch rates.

Mossy Brook Poultry is a small, family-run hatchery and homestead in Cullman, AL. On our 3 acre property we raise purebred chickens, turkeys, pheasants and Mandarin ducks. We have baby chicks and poults available throughout Spring, Summer and sometimes Fall. Some breeds may be available in the off season dependent upon if our animals are laying or not. We do not use artificial light or other means

to enhance natural egg production, we believe our poultry needs time to rest and build vitamins, minerals and calcium back into their bodies in the off season. From time to time we will have more eggs than we can fit in our two cabinet incubators and will offer some fertilized eggs for sale. There are many factors that go into hatching eggs and we cannot account for all of them nor do we know your incubation techniques. We can guarantee our eggs have come from our stock on our homestead, that they are the same eggs we use for hatching, that they will be under a week old and that they have been stored pointy end down in a cool dark place and turned at least twice per day. Our chicks and poults are sold as straight run only, except Crested Cream Legbars. We currently do not have the time or knowledge to s*x a large number of baby poultry with accuracy while maintaining the health of the babies. We love our poultry, we love hatching them and we love hearing from people whom have gotten our birds about how well they are doing. We usually do not sell adult poultry, our birds are our pets and we love all of them. We have been working on our flocks for 4 years and continue to raise and introduce new members to better our stock. All photos, videos and information contained on our page, website and in posts are of our actual birds, that live year-round on our homestead. No stock photos or generic information. We have recently begun offering certain breeds of eggs for shipping to poultry lovers that are not close enough to pick up at our homestead. These eggs will be very limited stock so inquire if you are interested in any of the breeds we have.

🎉 I am officially done collecting and hatching eggs for the season. 🥚🐣 Whatever I load in the incubator tomorrow is the last. When you go out to collect eggs 2 hours after the last time and 3 turkeys are refusing to leave the nest you know you’re in a losing battle. 🤺

Turkeys, Brahmas and Orpingtons are all in hard-core hatching mode and no one is gonna stop them. ⏱️

🤷‍♀️ Not quite sure of the direction I’m going for next year with some breeds so stay tuned for some grow-outs when I finally decide 🥰
I might have some surprises in store for what to expect next year, maybe some new breeds and colors?? 🤔😉

I’m grateful to all my friends, followers, customers and everyone that just drops by to say hi. We had a great season but I’m looking forward to a much needed break 😮‍💨
