It’s been a delicious strawberry season, and we’re currently using these beautiful Boyd Harvest Farm strawberries in our strawberry sorbet. 🥰🍓💕❤️
This looks like such a great farm, and I love that this farm gives people the opportunity to buy locally grown produce! There is something so important about knowing where your food comes from, and businesses like this make it possible. I watched a documentary recently that really praised local farmers for the impact that they have on everything from agribusiness to the health of their communities. I thought that was so great to show in this documentary, because it also showed how dangerous industrial farms can be for our health and the livelihood of our planet. The documentary was a great success in the film festival scene and I think that many people in this community would really enjoy it! If you are interested in watching, you can view the full-length documentary on Netflix, or if you just want to get all the information in less time, there is a 45 minute educational cut available on kissthegroundmovie.com.

We have been staying busy with our Farmers to Families Food Box program. Through this grant we get to buy from local farms and distribute them to local agencies. This weeks produce was from J. Calvert Farms , Boyd Harvest Farm , Burks Farm, Champion Farms , & Bagwell Blueberry Farm . Such beautiful produce from our farmers! Don't forget you can find a lot of these farms outside in the fresh air at Festhalle Farmers Market (OPEN TODAY) or contact them directly about buying from them!
