Since it rained last night we will not be able to cut sod for a few more days. March is usually the wettest month of the year but good news, April is right around the corner! We will keep you posted.

Unfortunately, since the sod fields have been too wet, we have been unable to cut sod at this time. We will need a stretch of several days of sunshine in order to start cutting. We appreciate your patience and will post the date we start cutting again.

July 9, 2014: Due to an unexpected demand, we are currently out of sod. However, we will have Tifway II Bermuda available beginning the 2nd week of August.

Tips on new sod care:
-Water New Sod Towards Evening
The recommended amount is at least an inch twice daily. If possible, try and water the sod in the evening or late in the day; this ensures that water is absorbed into the soil and not evaporated in the sun's rays.
-Mowing properly
Do not mow your sod directly after installing it. The best time for your first mowing is after the grass has reached 4 to 5 inches (in about 7-14 days). Also, you do not want to over-mow your lawn; a grass length of around 2 inches is ideal.
-Fertilization
Wait to fertilize your new lawn for about 2 months. When you do, be sure to use products with a 2-1-1 or 4-1-3 ratio. After the sod has taken root and become established in the soil, the best times for regular fertilization are early in the fall and early in the spring.
