Thank you for your support yesterday! ❤️

We’re so grateful the storm didn’t leave us with extra work and that everyone was understanding when we had to change our (Perry) plans.

For those who missed our 10 minutes of stories 😂, the high winds meant we needed to check the herds and every fence line. Wind can blow trees or branches onto fences and take them down.

Arlin and I checked the herds first, and everyone was safe and home. Then Arlin had to jump the Jeep to start it. We walked the fence through the wooded areas, then stalled the Jeep out in an overgrown spot 🤦‍♀️. The Jeep wouldn’t start back up, so we walked the rest of the fence line. That set us back a bit, but we still managed to open the store just 20 minutes late and pulled in right before our first customer!

It was especially nice seeing some of our regular Perry customers at the store.

We’re grateful we all found each other. Thank you for making some of the harder parts of ranching a little easier. We appreciate you!

Perry Pickup Update for Today

Unfortunately, we won’t be making it to Perry today. The high winds last night mean we need to check all our fence lines and make sure our herds are safe.

If you placed an order for Perry pickup, I've sent you an email. But the basic plan is that your order will be available at our General Store (today and next week), and I’ll bring it to our regular Perry spot next Saturday.

We’re heading out at first light to check fences. We plan to open the General Store during our regular Saturday hours, 10 AM–6 PM, but we won’t know the full extent of what needs attention until we’ve checked everything.

Rain isn’t usually a problem and all the herds have access to high ground, but high winds can create a lot of extra work on the ranch.

I’m sorry for the change of plans and the inconvenience. I was really hoping to get to Perry before the winds arrived. Thank you for understanding while we Ranch. 💚

🚐Easy drive-by loading so you don't have to get wet. Orders for pickup at Bank of Dudley tomorrow will be open until 4am tonight. If you change your mind about your Perry pick, no problem; we will see you in our usual spot next Saturday.

🛒Walk-ups are always welcome. In the rain, we will set up the canned goods and seasonings, but we will have them.

With the road closures downtown on October 10th for the 5K, I wasn’t sure we’d be able to make our usual pickup spot work. Thankfully, the folks at Bank of Dudley were kind enough to let us use their parking lot!

Ever wonder why a beef ranch started making seasonings?

Honestly, it wasn't the plan. 😆

I was trying to figure out how to make a really good gravy packet.

But to make a gravy mix you need bouillon. Then you need blind taste testing. Then modifying recipes. Then more taste testing. And eventually, somehow, we ended up with an entire seasoning line.

Some of the seasonings came from things we already use in our own kitchen. The Burger Blend, for example, was made specifically because Arlin loves onion powder and paprika on his burgers.

And there are some things about the process that took more thought than you might expect, like why we chose smaller glass jars, why we don't use anti-caking agents, and why our Italian seasoning gets chopped by hand.

I wrote a little more about how our seasoning line came out of our kitchen and made its way into the General Store.

They’re here. 🌿

We’ve been working on something new for the store, and our Silo Springs Ranch organic seasonings are officially launching.

We now have:

• Garlic Powder
• Onion Powder
• Golden Broth
• Hearty Bouillon
• Italian Seasoning
• Burger Blend
• All Purpose Seasoning

Every blend is made in small batches, by hand, right here at Silo Springs Ranch.

The herbs and spices are sourced from organic, ethical producers and, whenever possible, from domestic sources. We blend them ourselves and leave out the things we don’t think need to be there.

No anti-caking agents.
No preservatives.
No sugar.
No soy.
No dairy.

And except for the Burger Blend, Golden Broth, and Heart Bouillon, our seasonings are salt-free.

They’re packaged in glass jars, too, because we wanted something that looked as good sitting on your counter as it does on the shelf.

They’re available now at the Silo Springs Ranch General Store and online.

Some recipes are more than recipes.

They’re the ones written in someone’s handwriting. The ones you remember making with your grandmother, eating around your family’s table, or pulling out year after year because everyone knows exactly what it tastes like.

Those little pieces of paper can hold a surprising amount of family history.

What’s the recipe your family always comes back to? Maybe it’s a Sunday dinner, a holiday favorite, a casserole with no official recipe at all, or something only one person in the family knows how to make “the right way.”...I'm not eating anyone's meatball besides my Mom's.

One Silo & Stone Reserve Half Cow Remaining

We have one Prime graded half cow remaining and ready to pickup this Saturday!

This is Silo & Stone Reserve, our grain-finished Prime beef raised here at Silo Springs Ranch. These cattle live on pasture and have access to locally sourced grain from the time they are weaned, allowing us to develop the marbling and finish that earned this beef its Prime grade.

Your half cow is cut, individually packaged, frozen, and ready for your freezer. Steaks are packaged individually, ground beef is packaged in approximately one-pound packages, and you can swap any cut for ground beef when you book.

The price is all-inclusive, covering the share of the cow, processing, packaging, and applicable fees. No separate processing bill later, and no need to find someone to take the other half.

This will likely be our last Silo & Stone Reserve half cow of 2026.
