It was a big day. 💪
We loaded, took 3 cows to the butcher, came home, and disconnected the cattle trailer all before 7:30am.
I ran and picked up more pickle canned goods and pecans too!! The table in the store is loaded up and I have 4 different kinds of flavored pecans in the trailer for tomorrow (Saturday) in Perry.
Arlin's been working on our haying equipment because we are racing the weather to do another silage cutting.

📍Arlin will be at the store tomorrow 10am to 6pm.
📍I'll be in Perry tomorrow from 9am to 1pm.

🤠After 1pm I'll drive back to Culloden to hang out with Arlin at the store.

Spent part of the day out in the pasture with the calves Arlin is conditioning putting up sun shades set up for them.

The heifers stayed nearby the whole time making sure we were supervised properly and checked out everything we were doing. Cindy came too, but it’s already way too hot for her, so she spent most of the time in her favorite place… Arlin’s seat 😄

Truthfully, it’s already too hot for me too. Filling freezers and packing orders this morning to leaning against hot steel this afternoon is a rough transition. 🫠

We’ve also started working toward getting another pasture area set up separate from the all-grass herd so we can feed out a few steers differently. It’s still early days, but eventually we may be able to offer both:
⭐ grass-fed and grass-finished beef
⭐grass-fed and grain-finished beef

Honestly, it’s exciting to think about being able to offer both options one day.
