The three w**es from the Queen’s flight, including Mitans with its Pommard-like richness, a mid-slope Fremiers, and the stunning Rugiens Hauts from William Kelley, which earned a perfect score. A teaser prelude to my upcoming event roundup. Again, thank you to Robert Pavlovich for the curation and generosity. High fives ✋🏼🤚🏽to minds at The Pour Judgment who deserve your follow as they continue to elevate the w**e experience. 🤙🏽🥂🍾 **e **es

Do you know what never happens in a tasting of nine w**es from one estate? They’re all bangers, and this was one of these moments. All nine just right off the top, fantastic. But what was the first one that grabbed my attention? Caurel Sous la Chapelle. This one. I’d never had this vineyard before. Perhaps you have. If you have, give me some comments on it, because it was very much new to me, and I had never seen another producer bottle it on its own. Absolutely outstanding. William Kelly gave it a 94-point score. Impressive. However, I think what he says here is that shallow red clays leads to limestone that’s quite chalky and broken up, and it produces a frontal attack that gives way to structured framing on the w**e, and that’s what grabbed my attention. It was structured, and it had this attack on it that while the other ones had it, this one had a little bit more personality.
