Well, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted here! I blame my ADD and the thousand hobbies currently competing for my attention. 😂
At the beginning of this year, I decided THIS was finally going to be the year I checked some things off my never-ending to-do list. I knew I had a big surgery to recover from first, then my plan was to work hard through the summer so I could slow down and make time for the things I’ve been wanting to do.
I’ve had plenty of time to dream, research, and plan. Now comes the tricky part: staying on track without picking up seven new hobbies along the way. 😅
So while this page has been quiet, things behind the scenes definitely haven’t been! 🩷 Here’s a little of what’s been keeping me busy—and what you’ll be seeing more of here at Sweet Thistle Homestead:
🥖 Sourdough
This month marks THREE years since I started baking with sourdough! I’m still learning, experimenting, and finding new reasons to have flour all over my kitchen.
🧵 Sewing
My sewing machines have spent the last few years collecting more dust than stitches. I even bought my first Juki… and have yet to use it! Of course, none of that has stopped me from buying an obscene amount of fabric and supplies. Apparently, collecting fabric and actually sewing are two separate hobbies. 😂
🐶 🐐 🐓 🐇 The animals!
I’ve been raising meat rabbits for a while, and over the last few months I’ve gotten back into chickens and quail—and most recently added goats! Between them and the dogs, there’s always someone needing something around here. I’ll introduce the whole crew soon. 🥰
There are about a hundred other things I could ramble on about, but I’ve got chores to finish before my husband gets home, so I’ll save those for another day!
I’m aiming to show up here daily and share more of the projects, progress, and everyday chaos. Hopefully, posting will help keep me accountable… or at least give you something entertaining to follow. 😉
If you’ve made it this far, thank you for sticking around! If you have a page of your own, drop your link below. I do my best to follow back, and I’d love to see what you’re working on, too. 🩷
Xoxo,
KJ
