Middle of summer now and the harvest is kicking. Frankly so are the weeds but I'll deal with that later.

Summer is on....

Veggies are coming in far faster than we can eat them so will be investigating ways to store these. Best of all it's still so early.

I am focusing Cannon Creek Farm on honey mostly, I grow food for my family and friends. These past couple of years have been a learning experience and I am finding it amazing how much food one can grow in a relatively small space.

As June rolls out and summer rolls in, it's time to start fighting pests. But until then I will enjoy the bounty that the good lord provides. I am blessed in so many ways and it's a proud day when I can take pictures like this

Holy zucchini, Batman! Paul made FOUR loaves of zucchini bread and at least one kid enjoyed it! Back in the day, zucchini bread was the *first* thing I ever baked in our "home ec" class! This was delicious! He used a little bit of clove and some other spices!

We also had a good bit of snap peas in the bowl as well!

Is a very sad day on the farm. We had an incident with a stray dog and we lost a few chickens and a goat. So we say goodbye to Toothless today with a heavy heart. Give your pets a hug today and know that each animal is a blessing to all our lives.

This only had the asparagus from our garden for now, but soon the cucumber and tomatoes will also be home grown! I served it with some pan seared chicken (also from our farm) and it was the perfect summer meal!

Even with three kids that LOVE strawberries, we are growing them faster than we can eat them! This is our second year with June berries and Ever berries and it's quite the harvest! We are getting ready to freeze these!
