Here are the first pumpkins for my compost, thanks to Hunters Walk neighbors! If you have pumpkins, straw bales, bagged leaves, etc, you can leave them at my gate and I’ll add them to the pile. I hate to see good stuff go into the landfill.

Those strong winds tore my floating row cover, so while I was making repairs I snapped a photo of my happy romaine lettuce and red russian kale. They like the cooler weather but appreciate the protection from the extremes.
I have been setting up my new online ordering system now that the Cu***ng Harvest has closed. I can’t open the store this week because I don’t have enough to sell to make it worth it. But you can go ahead and sign up for an account (it’s free!) if you’d like to be ready to order. WeedySoil.Locallygrown.net
Please only sign up if you are in my delivery areas. I can’t drive miles out of my way to deliver a $3 order. Thanks for understanding!

SO, you may have heard that the Cu***ng Harvest is shutting down at the end of this year. I plan to set up my own market using the same ordering system as they used. (I have it half set up, but still need to revisit so of the logistics).
I won‘t have the annual membership fee, and it will only be my produce. I plan to either deliver to houses (if you are close enough) or meet customers at the gym where I work out. You really don‘t want to attempt our driveway out here.
I will always have eggs to sell, and right now I have a ton of fresh turmeric available.
I really hope my Cu***ng Harvest customers will stick with me! I appreciate your support!

Since I was unable to make any snowmen last year (did we get any snow at all?) I decided to make pumpkin men this year.
After this morning’s frost I picked up all the remaining pumpkins from the now-dead plant. These all grew from one plant that planted itself. The seeds came from pumpkins left for my compost pile by my Hunters Walk neighbors. Thank you, neighbors!
I’m still collecting any of your fall decor that can be composted - pumpkins, hay/ straw bales, gourds, corn stalks, bagged leaves. Just leave them at my back gate. That’s actually true all year round. My compost pile can always take more.

After neglecting it for over a year (can I blame covid mentality?) I think I finally have regained control of my hoop house. Still haven’t installed the new plastic, but one thing at a time. I worked on this from late August until yesterday.
Check out my before and after photos.

Today’s pretty w**d - chicory! In theory you can make chicory root coffee, but without the caffeine? Why bother? But it’s very pretty so I let it grow.

The veggies are finally coming in! For those of you I see at Jazzercise, at 12Stone Buford, or who live in Hunters Walk, I can get you the following (supplies limited):
Red Russian Kale - $3.50 for 8 oz bag
Zucchini - $3.00 / lb
Zephyr Squash - $3.00 / lb
Radishes - $2.50 / bunch of 5 (or more)

I usually have eggs available for $5.00/ dozen. They are always a mix of Large, Extra Large and Jumbo eggs. If you want eggs on a regular schedule let me know.
My chickens are in mobile coops and I let them out to roam freely every few days, just infrequently enough to confuse the predators. They are fed organic feed with supplemental goodies from any damaged produce from the garden.
