Good evening everyone 👋
We hope you have fared well over the winter. Winter isn’t done yet, but we’re so close. The bulbs are starting to pop and break ground. We’ll have flowers blooming soon!

I wanted to announce that I do not believe we will be at the Atchison Market this year. We are getting a nice stand that will be at the end of the drive and we fully intend on keeping it stocked do you! What would you like to see?

Loofas

Coming soon we will be offering day old chicks! If you are needing some replacement layers, comment below! They’ll be cheep cheep 🐥 We also are so excited to get fresh produce going again! Lots of fresh salad mixes this year, and all of our regular produce, I’ll post more later on that.

So we get asked often “what do you feed your chickens?” Here’s what they’re currently on and we change it throughout the year for various reasons. Right now we’re offering whole corn in their mix. Whole corn creats heat as it takes longer to digest, and keeps your birds warmer. Nutritionally corn doesn’t offer much protein, this is just to provide energy. Milo and wheat are added too. Doing the same as the corn, provides almost a treat to them. Whole oats provide essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber, including vitamin B6, magnesium, and soluble fiber. Next we’ve added 20% breeder pellets which contains your protein and vitamins & minerals for a balanced diet. We also include a 40% poultry concentrate that really helps you increase your egg production. A little goes a long way, this is a supplement, much like adding cat food like some people do. And last but not least we’ve added our grit into the mix. This recipe has been really good for us over wintering laying birds. It is also important to worm your flocks twice a year. I hope this helps you and your flock.
