Vidovich Vineyards Crafting fine wine on Montebello Road - Santa Cruz Mountains AVA 🍷
Open Thursday - Sunday 12-5pm
(408)-642-0555

For decades our family has been involved in farming around the Bay Area. It was Grandpa Steve Vidovich's dream to create his own wine label and in 2001 our first vintage was released. A couple years later in 2003 Steve brought on our new winemaker Nancy Freire and we continue to make big and bold handcrafted Cabernet Sauvignon each year. From our home to yours we hope you enjoy our wines as much as we do.

Snow up on Montebello Road this morning ❄️

The vines are fast asleep at 2,450 feet, tucked into their soil, waiting for spring. It’s quiet up here — just cold air, white rows, and Silicon Valley somewhere far below.

Winter slows everything down — meals linger, conversations stretch, and the bottle stays open a little longer.

Our Solera is built for those moments. A fortified blend of Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon, drawn from vintages reaching back to 2010 and aged through a traditional solera system. Time is the quiet ingredient here.

Layers unfold gradually: caramel, toasted nuts, winter spice, and subtle oak, carried by a warming 19.5% ABV that feels especially at home this time of year. It’s a wine for small pours, late evenings, and thoughtful pauses — equally comfortable alongside dark chocolate, blue cheese, or simply the fire.

Santa Cruz Mountains, patiently layered.

The 2019 Lake Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon presents a refined evolution of its character. With more time in the bottle, the wine has transition to showcase nuanced tertiary notes, such as to***co, leather, and subtle earthy undertones, while the fruit has become more restrained. Aromas of blackcurrant and graphite are complemented by hints of cedar and dried herbs along with the typical Cabernet pyrazine character shining through.
This vintage is ideal for both current enjoyment and further aging.

The wines bring people up the mountain, but the view often convinces them to stay a little longer.
A quiet ridge, a glass of Cabernet, and the Santa Cruz Mountains stretching out beneath you — it’s hard to beat.

New Release - 2023 Lake Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2023 Lake Vineyards Cabernet comes from a singular pocket of the Santa Cruz Mountains - the warm basin encapsulating the old Neary Quarry (which is now a small lake/reservoir). More than soil, it’s this sheltered bowl of heat and reflected warmth that allows Cabernet to develop deep, dark fruit while still holding the restraint and structure the region is known for.

The wine shows that balance clearly: dark fruit, lifted acidity, and tannins that feel firm yet welcoming. It’s built for the table - for weeknights, weekends, and the way people truly drink wine together.

Recent attention on the Santa Cruz Mountains has highlighted this contrast - fruit depth without excess, freshness that carries the wine, and a sense of place shaped as much by topography as by climate. Los Altos Hills embodies that beautifully.

Now available online and in the tasting room.

Yesterday’s fall release event reminded us why this community means so much.
Familiar faces, new members, and a shared appreciation for Santa Cruz Mountains wine.

A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us. The conversations, the connections, the sense of camaraderie - that’s what gives these gatherings their energy.
If you’d like to be part of future events, shared bottles, and the small community forming around these single-vineyard wines, our wine club is where all of that unfolds.
