This one tugged on my heart strings 🙏🏼❤️
Hi friends, It’s me, Amor ♥️
I heard that is my name now. It means love.
Yesterday, I left the outdoor kennels in Clovis, New Mexico. I am blind. I might be a little deaf too. I am also very old. The nights there were loud and cold. When you cannot see, the darkness feels even bigger. The barking echoed. The wind never stopped. I slept on concrete and waited.
People far away saw me. They said something that changed my life.
“We cannot save her alone, but we can together.”
And you did.
Last night, I slept on a couch for the first time in a very long time. No more concrete. No more echoing barks. No more fear. Just quiet, warmth, and gentle hands.
Even though my vision is gone, I still have value. I still have life. I still have love to give. My years may be short, but they will be full because of you.
I was saved through Bluey’s Hope 4 Horses and Heelers. Bluey left this world too soon, but his life is changing others. Because he was loved, I am loved. Because he is remembered, I am safe.
Senior dogs matter. Senior heelers matter. The best days of my life are still ahead, and you made that possible. We may move slower and take longer naps, but we love you just as much as a young dog. If not more!
If you would like to help give another senior dog the medical care and comfort we need in our golden years, you can donate below. Every single dollar helps dogs like me who just need someone to see their worth.
Thank you for believing that even when our eyes grow dim, our hearts are still full.
Love,
Amor
