The show calves are going back to Brost Farms today! It's always a bittersweet time of year. We've enjoyed seeing the calves out on pasture, especially since the yearlings never figured it out this summer. Plans are already being made for 2025! Next up will be classification in a few months!

It's been a crazy busy month with two fairs and an out of state work trip in between! The girls had a great show at the Clark County Fair, earning 3 reds and 4 pinks. The 3 calves went to the Central Wisconsin State Fair a few weeks later and stood middle of their classes. For the first time in a long time, we will be sitting out on World Dairy Expo but we have plans to return next year!

Bonus picture at the end of a successful purchase from our dispersal in 2021. Brittany was bought as a young calf and took Reserve Grand Champion Holstein at the Clark County Fair!

They include:
-The daughter of Charisma, 10th R&W Jr. 3 WDE, sister of Celebrate, Reserve Jr. Champ R&W Clark County fair
-The daughter of Astonish, Honorable Mention B&W Clark county fair

The dry cows are enjoying their new pasture! Soon the 2024 show string will be arriving at their summer home!
The red cow in the first two pictures is Chevy, a Rev Me Up who placed middle of her class at Expo as a spring calf. The red cow in the last two photos is Parsley, a twin granddaughter out of Cinnamon. Cinnamon was the Reserve Jr. All-American Red and White winter calf and Hon. Mention Jr All-American Red and White Winter Yearling in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Update: he is on his way to his new home!

Looking for your next herd bull with type, milk, and unique genetics? This young boy is the first son from Lonely-Mile Charisma-Red. He is either a Westcoast Reward-Red or Koepon Marble-Red-Et X Ex90 Diamondback x Sanchez.

Charisma was 10th place Jr. 3 at the International Red and White Holstein show in 2022. In her second lactation she went Ex-90. While we don't currently official test, our meters clocked her at consistently milking over 150lbs a day across 3 milkings. Unfortunately, we lost Charisma at the end of her 2nd lactation, but not before we were able to get this flush!

This family transmits, Charisma's granddam was 9th fall yearling at the International Junior Holstein show. Charisma's first daughter, pictured last, has been coming along great as well and looks to be just as promising!

With fall comes the bittersweet task of bringing the girls back to the farm. Astonish and Celebrate have headed back to the heifer housing, Blitzen and Karuba will hang out till Expo. We love that our girls can thrive in the commercial setting just as well as in their show pens!
