First peony cutting of the season 💐

Unfortunately we’ve had a rough year so far. We came out of winter with most of our hives, and then had those really nice spring days early on. When the cold hit again, we ended up losing 14 of our hives. 🐝

Fast forward a little bit and we started getting our flower plots prepped and ready. Realized a week ago that we lost every single dahlia tuber we stored over winter. It is what it is, but it still stings 😬

We planted a few dozen peony plants last year, and surprisingly have seen blooms on them already! I have cynoglossum and zinnias in, and will be prepping further these upcoming weeks for sunnies. With taking up teaching dance, ive decided to keep it simple this season. 🌻💐

This season will look a bit different, but different isn’t always a bad thing. We’ve had to overcome some obstacles thus far, but we are just where God wants us to be. 🙌🏻

If we have any honey available this season, it’ll be later in the summer/early fall. I’ll keep everyone updated as bouquets become available ❤️

We are SO looking forward to this years flower season. Cynoglossum became one of my favorites last growing season- I cannot wait to plant more of them this year (not just for us, but for the bees). What is your favorite flower? Tell us below 👇🏻

Early this morning, our Emmy threw quads. The smallest, unfortunately, didn’t make it. We brought them in, got them cleaned up/fed, and put them back out to enjoy some snuggles with mom. (We only stepped in to feed because Emmy wasn’t feeding the two smaller babies.)

There’s not a ton to garden during the winter months… and there’s not a lot of hive inspections for us to do 😅

Ive started teaching line dancing at Kathy’s School of Dance by Jill and would love to see some new faces in the studio this year 😃
