**SOLD**

Up for discussion
5 month old HNDF Big Nose Kate (Katie) is seeking new pastures. She is polled and has a few moonspots. This sweet, in your pocket doeling should bring some exellent dairy genetics to your herd. She is from a long line of keepers on both her dam and sires side. Her only fault is she is on the smaller side and wont be ready to breed this fall. Our herd is clean tested
$350 firm or willing to trade for a quality proven buck under 4 years old

My first attempt at fermented hot sauce.. first batch was a bust so tried again.. this time toned down the heat of the peppers by removing the veins and the seeds ( i know, you spicy lovers are screaming at me) recipe called for adding some of the brine back to the peppers and blending, adding vinager and sugar.. tested, added tested again and I think I got it where im ok with it.. brine was salty and of course this is a tad bit salty so next time I wont add as much brine, just drips and drabs.. but not to bad for a first try!
Im open to suggestions from anyone who has done their own!

The rush is on before I quit milking to get enough products preserved to last until january... yesterday's task was cheese! Ive tried making Monterey Jack and for sone reason it never turns out.. takes on a funky flavor that is off putting.. back to the tried and true Farmhouse Cheddar, I add a few tsp of pepper flakes and viola.. we have Goats Milk Farmhouse Pepper Cheddar đŸ˜‹

When you have extra goats milk you make good things! Fresh vanilla goats milk ice cream pairs nicely with the goats milk caramel.. The recipe I have calls for a gallon of goats milk so it allows for alot extra to preserve for a day when goats milk isnt as abundant.. it makes for a long day of pot watching and stirring and then processing but the result is beyond anything I would rather buy in the store..

Recipe I use:

1 gallon goats milk
4 cups sugar
1 TBSP vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
Tad bit of water

Mix milk, sugar and vanilla in large stock pot and cook on medium to medium high heat until it reaches a simmer, stirring frequently. Once it reaches a simmer mix the baking soda with water and add to milk mixture, it will foam and bubble, a larger than needed pot plus stirring helps keep it contained in the stock pot.. this will take 4-5 hours to reach the caramel stage so constant attention and frequently stirring is required.
Once done this can be canned!
I use half pints, fill to 1/2 inch, wipe rims and seal.. water bath for 15 min.
