It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Pats Black Oaks Farm J Cash.
So ends an era for HNDF. As many if you know we purchased Cash shortly after we settled in Oklahoma and not once did we ever regret that purchase. Cash added more than I could have ever hoped for to our herd and gave us countless hours of enjoyment with his antics. He was the gentlest of hersires and I never had a moments hesitation being in his pen. He has sired 5 years worth of kids for us and they and their offspring are spread far and wide across Oklahoma and the neighboring states. We are lucky to have owned him and we hope his lines have helped improve your herd as it has ours.
He was and always will be our good ol boy and will be sorely missed!

Ok guys! I told you to follow M&K Family Goat Ranch for updates on HNDF Macchiato.. well here we go! Tanner was tasked with showing today and wouldnt you know it, HNDF Macchiato placed first in her round, then came back and placed first in Breed Champion ...She lost out as Grand Champion but this gal sure showed her stuff today and won! Thanks to Kathy and Tanner for taking our sweet girl to such great heights!!! Good things are in her future! Photos credit to M&K Family Goat Ranch

Well, that was not expected... obviously HNDF Dutchess did not settle and is in heat ... she will be bred on her next cycle for March kids. Im not too disappointed, I gave it a short window for all 5 to settle.. Dutchess is just now showing she didnt and of course you all know Noel aborted the month after she was bred. It just means more fun for spring kids 😆

Operation 2026 freezer camp has come to a close. Cris, p and bacon are safely in the hands of the processor and jeff and I can mark that off our list for the rest of the year. Felt great to have everyone comment on how nice our pigs looked, how calm they were and the connections we are able to make with our community. Came home in time for morning chores and breakfast. If you are interested in getting home grown pork let me know, jeff and I are thinking of expanding and raising a few to sell to the public.

Ok guys! The wait is over...
We would like to (re) introduce you to HNDF Here Comes The Calvary.. Cal as he will be known, is a sight for sore eyes and holds alot of promise for further herd improvements. He is level and has some length and width and is backed by great dairy genetics. While he may be on the shorter side, he more than makes up for it in determination and genes. His sire is HNDF Steel Ur Girl, a buck I have regretted letting go of time and again, having his son here backed not only by the Kharisma Farm genetics but also by a long line of HNDF genetics gives me hope for the fuller udders, strong attachments and long level top lines. I have a couple girls he will be spending some time with in another month or so.. Stay tuned!

Our hail Mary breeding... everyone that follows us knows Cash, our senior buck has struggled with his health this last year, he has had his highs and his lows and we have finally come to the realization that our old man is just wearing down. My hope this year was to breed him to Juliette in the hopes we would get a doeling. This last month has seen him grow weaker and more frail and with winter looming I really fear we wont have him going into 2027. This morning found Juliette showing every sign she would like to spend a few moments with one of the bucks so after a discussion with Jeff we decided to throw caution to the wind. Cash was able to cover her just once and even that was obviously a struggle for him. We hope it was enough, if so Feb 7th will be the date to watch.
