Holy moly, it’s been awile since I have shared any updates on our farm!

We have been very busy with the newest addition to the farm - our son, Barrett Cole made his arrival in early December & we couldn’t be happier.

Things are pretty slow on the farm this time of year. We should be welcoming a few litters of piglets from all our gals early early spring (🤞🏼). Everyone has been enjoying the false spring MN decided to throw at us the past couple of weeks. Man, does the sunshine feel good. Barrett & I have been enjoying our walks around the farm, & of course visiting all of our animals.

I hope to be better at sharing once things pick up around the farm!

Happy Sunday!

These sweet little babies are already 3 weeks old 🥹
Growing like weeds & they sure are getting chunky!

They have the best mama who is always communicating with them & it’s the sweetest thing ever! You can tell she’s enjoying the time in the nursery with her babies.

I also wanted to introduce you to our upcoming replacement gilt…

Hi all, it’s been a while!

I personally have been off of social media for the past few weeks but, I have something worth popping on for to show you.

After a rough year or so without any litters of piglets (that’s farming for ya - doesn’t always go as planned), we welcomed the CUTEST little bunch of babies last night.

Louise, first time mama had 8 piglets. Some red like their mama & the rest like their dad with little white noses. All are happy & healthy. Mama is doing amazing 🤍

good morning friends!

I’ve been a little behind on posting on here - it’s been a busy couple of months!

Alex & I got married on October 5th here at the farm, it was absolutely perfect and beautiful! It was bittersweet seeing everyone & having them see our little slice of heaven. I’ve attached some photos - I know many of you have reached out wanting to see so, here ya go! Of course I had to add some extras of the animals 🙂

We are entering the chilly months here at the farm, our pigs & chickens are ready to hunker down - they’ve got plenty of bedding & a lot of body heat. We just put our feeder pigs outside now that they are big enough to not escape - they are doing good!

Our hog list is filling up quick - if you’re looking for a half or whole let us know as soon as possible! They will be ready in March/April.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

I’ve got some pretty kittens looking for a new homes! Lighter color is a female. The rest are male. :)

Happy ✨1st✨ Birthday to my sweet red babies, Thelma & Louise!

These two (& their mama) have my heart, completely. I’ve never been so amazed with a set of gals so much - I knew they were gonna be something special! They have grown so much in the past year & show so much potential for absolutely gorgeous offspring 😍

Here are a couple earlier pics of them to now - they fill up my camera roll!

What should they get for their birthday treat?

Louise wants everyone to know that it’s finally,
PORKtober 🤎

The whole month of October is Pork Month! Where producers, consumers, swine professionals & every day people come together and focus on the value of a pig - not just for their meat. The swine industry provides a way of life for farmers, whether it’s one pig or one hundred.

One way I like to look at it is - imagine you have a younger child/teen in your life; whether it’s your own, a niece/nephew, grandchild, etc. That child comes up to you and talks about ways they can get out into the community, ways they can learn responsibility, ways they can navigate a path to a future career (I’m speaking from experience of course) - the list goes on. Some will say the easiest way to do so is going to local events, being given a list of chores to do around the house, etc. BUT one of the best ways for a younger child to learn more about all aspects above is to be handed an animal to care for, and I couldn’t agree more!

What I’m getting at is - that I was given an opportunity at a young age to be around farm animals, be in 4H, show cattle - the list goes on. But I can see exactly the way those earlier teachings brought me to where I am today. At a young age I learned what it was like to take care of a living creature, big or small - to learn responsibility. To carve a path to my career. To be involved in the community in ways I would never imagine. This is what pork month is all about - a pigs legacy.

A teaching moment for all around. A friend, one can talk to (that doesn’t talk back 🤭), a 4H show partner, a mama to many piglets, a meal for a family in need, and so much more.

A pig is more, than just a pig.
Happy Pork Month!
