Recent variation of Series V Tree Shear.

Here’s something a little different, created for a special customer. Rather than using a bale spear to hang the Limb Clipper on, I made a heavy frame with a longer length of 2” dia. bar to allow skidsteer to reach heights similar to what large tractors and front end loaders are capable of.

Back in 1990, I would head west out of Tulsa on 412, thinking that the tree shear business would be good for maybe five years, and by then there wouldn’t be any more red cedar to cut.
Never, in my wildest dreams, did I think that by 2019, red cedar would have taken over so much land, as land owners ignore the problem. It is sickening to see how many properties have became useless in my lifetime, from neglect. Red cedar is the easiest to control, because they don’t sprout back. Hedge, locust, and mesquite, not so simple, and stumps must be sprayed. Luckily here in east central Oklahoma, we fight mainly red cedar. The biggest problem with them is that they spread and grow very fast, and are easily planted by birds, usually right beside your steel T posts.

This photo shows current configuration of the Wolff Fenceline Shear. It differs from the demo shear in that it is rigid to the mounting, not hinged in front of the mounting. Chain has been replaced with steel strap for strength. This must be ran on skidsteer for full maneuverability. This is capable of cutting 8” dia. trees on either side, against post.

Series V Shear headed to Houston area in a week. Massey Red is not my normal color, but I like it. Customer also ordered special mounting adapters and a set of interchangeable zig zag brush jaws.
