🍂 Fall on the Homestead 🍂

I keep waiting for things to slow down, but it still hasn’t happened yet 😅 We’ve been busy, busy prepping for winter and harvesting the last of the garden produce 🫑

Usually, I dread winter, but this year I’m actually looking forward to a little downtime to recharge after a busy season!

Our top 5 favorite things about our chicken coop 🐓🏠

🚪 Automatic chicken door — one less thing to remember every morning and night
🏠 Covered run area — keeps the chickens protected from the elements while still giving them outdoor space
💩 P**p chute — because anything that makes coop cleaning easier is a win 😂
🥚 Nesting buckets — easy to access, easy to clean
🐥 Built-in integration area — makes introducing new chickens SO much simpler and gives us a space to separate chickens from the flock if needed

If you’re designing or building a coop, these are definitely five features I’d recommend considering! 🐔

September has been a blur of activity so far!

🌱 Our first-ever wholesale plant order arrived this week, and we’ve been busy getting everything prepped for fall planting.

💐 With the Crosslake Days Market just around the corner (Saturday, September 26th!), we’re printing labels, making signs, and restocking our handmade goods.

🐓 And with cold weather coming soon, the chicken coop needs one last deep clean before we start getting everything ready for winter.
