Today marks the final day of our Tiny Farmers Children’s Educational Program! 🌱🚜🍅

Throughout the program, our Tiny Farmers learned why farms are so important, how weather impacts farming, how to plant and care for their own plants, plant anatomy, the important role of pollinators, soil health and so much more! 🐝🌦️🌿

Our goal was to give these little farmers a hands-on look at where their food comes from while encouraging curiosity, responsibility, and a love for agriculture. 💚

A huge thank you to all of our amazing Tiny Farmers and their families for spending the season learning, exploring, and growing with us. We loved having you on the farm!

And this is just the beginning! 🌻 Stay tuned for more children’s educational programs and opportunities to learn, grow, and explore with us on the farm! 🚜🌱

The farm is a little brighter today because our Tiny Farmers are back! 🌱💚

We kicked off the morning by harvesting fresh blueberries straight from the bushes, giving our Tiny Farmers a chance to experience the excitement of picking fruit at its peak!

One of the highlights of the day was our hands-on soil science experiment. By comparing different soil samples in water, the children observed how soil structure, organic matter, and composition affect a plant’s ability to grow. They learned that healthy soil is full of life and provides the water, nutrients, and support that crops need to thrive. Watching them ask questions, make observations, and connect what they were seeing to the fields around them was a wonderful reminder that some of the best learning happens with dirty hands and curious minds!

Cultivating Curiosity Through Agriculture!
This August, give your child the opportunity to discover the world of agriculture through hands-on experiences that inspire curiosity and foster a lifelong appreciation for farming.

At Tiny Farmers, children ages 4–8 will explore how food is grown while gaining a deeper understanding of sustainable agriculture, healthy ecosystems, and the important role local farms play in our communities.

Each week focuses on a different aspect of life on the farm—from planting seeds and building healthy soil to harvesting seasonal vegetables, exploring the importance of pollinators, learning about composting, and caring for the land. Every activity is thoughtfully designed to encourage curiosity, develop confidence, and help children understand the journey of food from seed to harvest.

More than just a children’s program, Tiny Farmers creates meaningful connections between children, agriculture, and the environment. Our goal is to inspire the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and appreciation needed to become thoughtful stewards of the land and informed consumers of the food they eat.

Did you know garlic is planted in the fall and spends the entire winter growing underground? After months of cold weather, spring growth, and careful field management, it’s finally ready to harvest in the summer. Each bulb is hand-pulled, cured for several weeks to develop its full flavor and storage life, then cleaned and ready for your kitchen. It’s a long process—but one that’s well worth the wait!
