Barlow Fair 2024

Brooke Branham showed her feeder steer and feeder heifer. She also showed CAF Royal Blackbird 401 in the open breed show and won Reserve Champion Angus heifer. Brooke worked hard all summer getting the calves ready for barlow and it showed. Brooke was picked as 3rd overall Junior showman in showmanship.

Oakley also made his way into the show ring competing in pewee showmanship.

We continue to breed with better genetics to increase the quality of calves to put in the kids hands.

The National Junior Recognition Program provides an opportunity for young Angus breeders to become nationally recognized for continued achievement and is based on activities over a junior member's entire career. There are three levels of recognition: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

What an incredible week at the National Junior Angus Show - NJAS 2024 in Madison, Wisconsin! Representing the Eastern Ohio Angus Association Queen and the state of Ohio Angus Association has been an honor.

From competing in various contests to making lifelong friendships, it's been and unforgettable experience. Caroline is already planning which new contests to tackle next year! Caroline and her heifer Rapunzel have been an amazing team in the show ring, and she plans to continue to work on her showmanship skills and making us proud. This experience is a stepping stone for Caroline's journey in the Junior Angus Association. While also having big dreams of one day earning the opportunity to wear one of those green jackets.

We are incredibly grateful to Rocky Boots for sponsoring Caroline with a pair of boots from Durango Boot! These boots have not only been stylish but also comfortable and durable, making a real difference in Caroline's proformance. Heifers are enjoying their fresh pen for viewing!

We have four registered Angus bred heifers up for discussion. All four heifers were confirmed pregnant by a veterinarian this week. The heifers are vaccinated and wormed. #105 is due 10/25/23 bred to Connealy Courage, #011 is due 3/23/24 bred to G A R Game On, #113 is due 11/15/23 bred to SAV Mustang, and #135 is due 3/21/23 bred to SAV Mandan. These heifers are calm, easy to handle and ready for new homes.
