I will be there with microgreens, herbal sprays, green onions while they last, beautiful herb bouquets and soaps.

We will have lots of local, fresh produce and products waiting for you at the Harrison Co. Farmers' Market tomorrow! Start your Saturday off the right way, enjoying a cup of Cordial coffee and browsing all the spring goodies the Market has to offer.

This week we will have the following products and produce:

-Breads and sourdough breads
-Sourdough cookies and brownies, muffins, hand pies, and gluten-free baked goods
-Jams, jellies, and fruit butters
-Green onions, microgreens, rhubarb, and beets
-Farm fresh chicken and duck eggs
-Veggie plants, native plants, and perennial and annual flowers
-Blueberries and tart cherries
-Dried fruits and herbs, fresh herbs, spices, and seasonings
-Herbal sprays and soaps
-Art, decor, 3D printed items, and other handmade items

It looks like there is 100% chance of much-needed rain tomorrow. Good news: we are under a roof. Come out and shop, get some samples, free Cordial - Coffee & Curated Finds coffee. We are there for you- rain or shine. I will have LOTS OF RADISHES! Get them while I have them.

Lemon verbena 🥰

Some tips for using Lemon Verbena in the kitchen!
• The young leaves are tender and great for chopping to add to dishes.
• Add finely chopped leaves to recipes like blueberry or other fruit muffins, cakes, cookies, sorbet or ice cream.
• Lemon zest or juice further intensifies the flavor.
• Make a compound butter by adding finely chopped lemon verbena leaves to softened butter. Form it into a log shape, wrap in wax paper, and refrigerate or freeze.
• Use finely chopped young lemon verbena leaves in place of lemon zest in recipes.
• Older leaves are tougher and have a strong mid-rib. Steep these for flavor int beverages and other liquids.
• Dry leaves on a screen or hang in bunches until the leaves are “corn flake crisp”. Store leaves in a sealed container, away from direct sunlight.
• Dried leaves retain flavor and fragrance for a few years when stored properly.
• Steep 1 teaspoon of dried or 1 tablespoon of fresh leaves for 7 minutes to make a relaxing tea. Also blends nicely with black tea and other herbs for hot or iced tea.
• Use lemon verbena syrup to make lemonade, cocktails, or to sweeten other beverages.
• Use lemon-scented sugar in teas, cookie recipes, or other baked goods.

Today is World Bee Day, but I encourage you to remember all the insects that help pollinate our plants.

Did you know you don’t have to be a beekeeper to help & protect bees? You can:
- plant pollinator friendly flowers
- make little bee houses for solitary bees
- opt for sustainable food choices
- buy local honey & bee products
- reduce the use of harmful chemicals like pesticides
- leave nesting sites for ground nesting bees
- plant hedgerows

By doing any of these practices, you will help & protect bees and other pollinators in our ecosystem!
