Local KY Proud Grocery & Farmers Market, our family takes great pride in diversifying are family’s Beef Cattle Business/Farms! We are focused on sustainable farming practices, as well as always keeping our customers at the forefront of every decision making process, we work towards here at the farm! Keeping our beloved customers at the center of every step we take, allows us to grow with purpose & integrity knowing we are using all techniques that have been passed down & perfected over the past generations and put to the test and stood the test of time! As 3rd and 4th generation farmers we strive to always ensure we are using the best Beef Quality Assurance (BQA Certified) & safe practices from start to finished products. That’s why you often hear other farmers say, “farming isn’t just a job, it’s a way of life” when we clock in we don’t clock out, farming is 24/7, & 365 days a year! Our Farm was established in 1986 and today has grown into a truly diversified business, running our farm along side our Local KY Proud Grocery store! As the farmers easing the beef, from start to finishing weight, we are also the friendly faces you meet behind the counter at checkout, & if you have questions we are always ready and willing to answer any you might have!
Today our 3 farms manage over 200 plus head of Beef cattle, and my husband and use the rotational grazing systems and in doing so we our raising and producing premium Grass Fed and Grass Finished Beef!
We are 100% organic which means our cattle get no corn which is sprayed with pesticides, no antibiotics, and no steroids to get them fat a finished faster like most farmers due with corn fed beef. Not to mention Grass fed & Finished is the healthiest form of meat to consume, a many studies over the years have proven it time and time again! We not only raise the beef calves here on our farm their entire lives but we also put up all their hay as well, so we know exactly what our cattle are eating as well, our hay is strictly just all natural grass mixed hats meaning again, no sprays or pesticides! Which is healthier for our cattle and in turn is healthier for our customers!! Raising this type of beef even though being healthier for us as consumers takes twice as long to raise them as it does corn fed beef’s which means we have to invest twice the amount of money and time into them to get them to harvest weight and corn fed beef farmers do not! However if we were in it for the money we would have quit a long time ago because raising this type of beef is the most time consuming and priciest beef there is to raise, but we aren’t budging when we say , “we are here for our customers” and we aren’t trying to price gauge anyone, we are just local farmers trying to work the land and feed our families high quality foods at a minimum price so that everyone too can afford to eat healthy!!!!
