Yes I know this monster probably had a hand in destroying a couple of my trees but I still think it’s pretty when they show up on camera. Just as long as they are by the woods and not by my apple trees!

Pond reflections at sunset always strike me as the most beautiful art. Caught this beauty on the way down the driveway after a long day of working on the farm.

Winter Sowing: Have you ever tried it? I started a few “hard to start from seed” perennials last year and had success so this year I’m expand the experiment! It’s a pretty low effort experiment and I hope to get some hardy transplants. What are your favorite things to winter sow?

With a few warm days this week we were able to do a hive check and activity was seen for all four of our hives! Here’s a little video of the bees enjoying some time outside their hive. Excited to announce we are now a member of Kentucky Proud! Kentucky Proud is our states official agricultural-marketing program and brand which represents Kentucky's agricultural food and products.

As we grow our farm, being a member of programs like this will hopefully lead to educational opportunities for us to make the most out of our farm!

Happy Valentine’s Day to us! We got to go to our farm since the big snow/ice storm a few weeks ago. Chris and I also both got sick so I have had horrible bronchitis this last week. The biggest surprise, our hens started laying again! A couple for the first time! They were still kinda young in the fall. I found a stash I know wasn’t there 2 weeks ago. So tomorrow I will be cleaning out their temporary coop and resetting so I can keep an eye out for fresh eggs!
