We would like to take a moment to thank our 2025 Shrimp King, Brian Gollott, for his reign as part of the 96th Blessing of the Fleet.
Brian Gollott is a third-generation co-owner of C.F. Gollott & Son Seafood, Inc, based in D’Iberville, Mississippi. He has been married to Trudy Gollott for 53 years and has two children, Trulie Gollott and Shawn Gollott and two grandchildren Shawn Miguel Gollott and Baylie Gollott- Ho whom served as Shrimp Queen 2024. Brian is a member of the Harrison County Development Commission, Mississippi Coast Coliseum Board, D’Iberville Businessmen’s Club and formerly served as a Blessing of the Fleet Committee and was an original board member of the Wild American Shrimp Organization.
C.F. Gollott & Son Seafood, has been apart of Brian’s story since birth, started by his industrious grandfather C.F. in 1932. As the oldest of 5 brothers, Brian was the first to join the family business and started as a young boy on clean-up crew and manning the docks unloading the daily fresh catch. Working alongside his grandfather C.F. and his father Arnie Sr. (Shrimp King 2007) he quickly learned an “all hands-on deck” approach with no task too trivial. Out of necessity he started driving a delivery truck hauling oysters and crabs to north Mississippi. Later transitioning into sales, he cultivated long-term sales relationships with his customers while growing his delivery route now in one of C.F. Gollott’s first 18-wheeler trucks expanding north to include all of Mississippi, to Memphis, TN, Birmingham, AL, and west throughout southern Louisianna.
Brian has always been an advocate for wild American shrimp and in the early 2000’s was on the forefront for the first antidumping tariff case of warm-water shrimp and unfair pricing brought against 5 countries for imported shrimp. Traveling many times to Washington DC, he met with legislators and advocated for the issues facing the entire sh*****ng industry. Finally in 2004 the case was won, and the first steps were taken to help the domestic shrimp industry in the fight against dumping of imported shrimp into the U.S. market. Today C.F. Gollott Seafood Inc, now operated by the fourth-generation including his daughter Trulie Gollott, remains at the forefront of innovation, excellence, and committed to ensuring the freshest, highest quality 100% Wild American Shrimp.
Brian says “the best advice our dad gave all us boys was that families work together!” “We take pride in a generational company past down from generation to generation for over 90 years.” C.F. Gollott & Son Seafood has stood the test of time, navigated many hardships, major rebuilds, and foreign shrimp invasion. Now retired, Brian still serves as a board member of C.F. Gollott but these days enjoys time on his boat fishing, cutting grass, and has been dubbed the “Mayor of Horn Island.”
Brian is proud of his seafood heritage, and will always be an integral part of its rich history. He hopes the shrimp culture continues for generations to come to include his current grandchildren and future great-grandchildren.
