Bake Me A-Go-Go d/b/a The Baker's Underground

"When a problem comes along, you must whip it!" I thoroughly enjoy spending time in the kitchen and love feeding others.

I specialize in small batch orders to help enhance and sweeten your everyday life! After unexpectedly losing my job in 2011, I decided to parlay my love of baking into a little side venture! I admit it, I love through food! If you love treats and don't have (or want to take!) the time make them, then I'm your girl! Please contact me with any questions, ideas, requests and/or pricing!

Hey there Go-Goers! I wanted to post that after some consideration, I've decided to take off graduation season. This is usually my busiest time, so I don't make this decision lightly.
Making cookies for everyone's celebrations is always such a joy and I love being able to take part in these milestones.

This last year has just been very challenging for me. The loss of my dad has significantly thrown me off my game and rather than continue to force myself at full speed so I don't disappoint others, I'm going to grant myself some space to slow down without guilt.

This isn't forever! Just a rest so I can give my focus to my lovely girls, the mountain bike team my husband and I are in charge of, and my family. There may be a few cookies that pop up out of gifting or stars aligning, but no official orders. So always be on the lookout!

Thank you always for your support and love! I hope to get back to it after a break! ๐Ÿ’—

I haven't shared anything since way back in May when I was doing the graduation scene! I never shared my last graduation batch due to a lot going on behind the scenes. The week I was doing graduation orders, my dad went into hospice. The first week of June he passed away.

I never posted those cookies because my heart was just so terribly broken. My dad was always the first to comment on my cookies, declaring them all "Yummmmskies!" For whatever reason, I just couldn't do it, knowing his support would be absent.

I got my love of baking and cooking from my dad. He was always in the kitchen whipping up favorites or trying new things. He was a huge supporter and cheerleader in this little personal endeavor. I haven't baked much since he passed.

Every Christmas I normally make a large variety of cookies and pack them up in boxes for neighbors and friends. Each year I make a signature sugar cookie, such as Snoopy or a scrollwork tree, as well as a leg lamp (because our house has a leg lamp!) Christmas was my dad's favorite holiday and as we navigated this first season without him, the thought of baking was not exciting but seemed exhausting.

Then, one of my BFFs sent me a picture of a cookie that she said made her think of me and my dad. A simple tree with a little cardinal on a branch. Her gentle kindness simply inspired me! I decided to dig in and keep the tradition alive! (And the whole baking day, a cardinal kept visiting me through the kitchen window!) I know my dad was there, cheering me on an supporting me as he always had.

I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanza, Happy Solstice, Happy Festivus, Happy New Year... Whatever it is you celebrate that brings you light and happiness! Season's Greetings and may you slow down and treasure the small moments with the ones you love.

I got to make some really fun cookies this week! This was just something I did for my kids and their off-season mountain bike team. My kids are obsessed with riding and participating in one season a year isn't enough! So they're using the off-season to ride on a development team to hone their skills, make friends with kids they normally compete against, and do some races!

They had a 6 hour race this weekend, so naturally I needed to bring some sugar to help them fuel! Tacos/burritos are pretty much a post-ride favorite amongst the mountain biking community, so I used this opportunity to mimic one of the team stickers! ๐Ÿคญ

Race day was a lot of fun and ALL cookies were enjoyed! ๐Ÿšตโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿช

Hi Go-Goers! I wanted to let you know that due to high demand, I'm not able to take any more graduation orders. I don't know if I've ever been fully booked this early, but I appreciate it! I'm so sorry for anyone this inconveniences! Please note that the middle of April to the first week of June will be unavailable. Thanks!

I know we've officially entered the holiday season - but this year there's a family celebrating a little extra! A new baby on the way! And bless this mama's friends for throwing a baby shower on one of the precious few December weekends! That's a lot of love, y'all!

The theme of this celebration was Winnie the Pooh, probably because a little hunny is going to sweeten up the world soon! ๐Ÿ’—

I've never done Pooh Bear, so I was a little nervous. You want to do right by the classic characters! I was also given a color palette of beautiful muted tones, so the color choices were very specific and they really came together!

I hope Mommy-to-be and company had a blast celebrating the sweet hunny set to come in 2024!

I haven't posted in a loooong time because it's been mountain bike season! I found myself coaching again and also stumbled into the team director position...wha?! So it's been epically busy this fall!
We had our last regular season race last weekend and, since it was our home race, I had to make cookies for all the kids! And then maybe some for the adults/coaches, too!
It must've been good luck because our team had a great showing with 8 on the podium! (And maybe 2 of them were my babies and I can't help bragging on them a bit!)
If you're wondering about the "For the mullet!" saying... This has been a team chant all season. The head coach said if the team wins state, he'll let the varsity kids cut his hair into a mullet. Total motivation because these kids have showed out at every race and we currently have top points.
We're heading to state this weekend and the head coach has packed clippers... Wish these kids luck this weekend! Go Hawks and FOR THE MULLET! ๐Ÿšตโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšตโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Well, tomorrow is June 1st, the opening of Pride month, so I had to share a special surprise I made for a little friend of mine! Just a little sweet something to let them know how much I love them!

Even if you don't partake in any Pride celebrations, you can't not enjoy such fun, pretty, and yummy cookies! I mean, hey, I don't have to celebrate Hanukkah to appreciate some killer latkes! ๐Ÿ˜‹

It's never going to be a bad idea to throw around some positivity, give from your heart, and share some love and joy!

So I have a zillion pictures for y'all in this post, but in my defense I made about a zillion cookies! ๐Ÿคฃ

This week I got to hunker down and pull out just about all of my tricks for a 3-person graduation extravaganza! And nothing gave me greater pleasure because these 3 boys are the sweetest friends who have logged countless lacrosse hours and plenty of hijinks in the last years. And it's a bittersweet celebration as the band breaks up and they all go off to new places in August.

But first, cookies! This was not my first dance with UGA cookies. (Have I mentioned my alma mater and my obscene fandom? GO DAWGS! Maybe it's come up once or twice? ๐Ÿ˜) So I was more than happy to make another round of these this year!

This was only my second time with Auburn - I've got to be honest, they're growing on me! I love getting to do that tiger stripe with my airbrusher!

This was my first time with Georgia Southern, but I have to say, I hope it's not my last! I had a ball with that gold and was trying to paint sparkles on anything I could!

You'll notice all the cookies are sitting on a bed of very yummy chocolate chip cookies! These moms were so smart and knew if they were having a party for three grown boys, there would be a MULTITUDE of hungry grown boys! So we supplemented the sugar cookies with 6 dozen chocolate chips cookies, half of them festively done up in school colors!

Finally, I added a little extra detail for the moms. With these graduates, all 3 moms are officially empty nesters. As my 2 kids inch ever closer to that finish line, I don't know how these moms do it! But if you'll notice, each state shaped cookie has a little heart on it where their respective university is. That's where each mom's heart is going to be the next 4 years. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

It's a tough time of year, everyone! So much joy and celebration, but bittersweet tears with the transition to new things. Thank God there are always cookies to cheer you up!

Happy graduation everybody!

Mad mixes going on this morning! Guess the universities! (At least 3 of you can't play! ๐Ÿคญ)

Details are really important to me, y'all. So if one of your school colors is gold, you might finding me painting lettering or graduation cap tassels with some sparkle and a teeny tiny brush! I will also spill the sparkly dust everywhere! ๐Ÿคฃ

(Paint = edible gold dust+ vodka! *The alcohol evaporates.)
