⚠️ ⚠️ PLEASE. SLOW. DOWN. FOR OUR SANDHILL CRANES. ⚠️

I am absolutely heartbroken and furious this morning.

We have a flock of Sandhill Cranes that regularly visits our property, including Hertbert, our injured crane. We watch them every day. We know the families. We watch the babies grow. They’ve become part of everyday life here.

This morning, one of the cranes that comes here with the flock was hit by a vehicle.

He was left injured and dying in the road directly in front of our driveway, where he passed away. 💔

And now Chad — who watches these cranes, cares about them, and enjoys them just as much as I do — is the person left to go out there and pick up the body of an animal we cared about.

Nobody should have to scrape an animal they care about off the road because someone couldn’t slow down.

PLEASE understand something:

Our baby cranes CANNOT cross the road quickly.

They don’t understand that you’re in a hurry. They don’t understand what a car is capable of doing to them. They cannot make themselves move faster because you’re approaching.

WE understand.

People are the ones driving the vehicles.

People understand what happens when we don’t slow down.

And PEOPLE are the only ones who can prevent this.

If you see one crane near the road, assume there are more. They travel together. A mate, a baby, or the rest of the flock may be only a few steps behind.

Please don’t just assume they’ll get out of your way.

SLOW DOWN.

Give them the few seconds they need to safely cross.

This morning, one of our regular visitors died in front of our home. Chad now has to remove his body from the road. And the rest of his flock will continue coming back here — including babies that simply cannot move fast enough to get out of the way of someone who refuses to slow down.

A few seconds of your time can literally save their life.

Please watch for our cranes.
Please watch for ALL of Florida’s wildlife.
PLEASE. SLOW. DOWN. 💔

So… apparently Chad has decided that I have purchased ENOUGH Halloween decorations and I am officially CUT OFF from buying any more this year. 🙄😂

Which is fine.

Totally fine.

Because he said I can’t BUY any more.

He did NOT say anything about acquiring FREE Halloween decorations from my friends and customers. 😏🎃

🍪🔥 COME GET THESE!!! 🔥🍪

The Biscoff Cinnamon Rolls JUST came out of the oven at 3:30 PM and ohhhh my goodness. 🤤

We’re talking OVER HALF A POUND of soft, fluffy sourdough cinnamon-roll goodness — swirled with a rich Biscoff cookie butter filling, topped with creamy Biscoff frosting, even MORE cookie butter, and finished with a Biscoff cookie on top. 😍

These are the kind of Saturday-night dessert you warm up just a little, grab a fork, and disappear with. 😂 And if you really want to get ridiculous with it? Warm one up and add a scoop of cold vanilla ice cream. That melty Biscoff + warm cinnamon roll + cold vanilla ice cream situation… GOOD LORD. 🤤

A whole day dedicated to the four-legged family members who fill our homes with love, cover everything we own in fur, and somehow convince us they haven’t eaten in approximately 17 years. 😂
