Locally raised beef, pork, chickens, and eggs. Tom is a second generation graduate of the Mizzou School of Agriculture.

He uses these skills to produce and market our farm raised meats. Becky is a graduate from the Mizzou Home Economics Education Department. She uses her expertise in the areas of nutrition and food preparation to promote our family business.

Don’t forget in fresh veggie season to treat your baby chicks too! Our 10 day olds are enjoying fresh lawn trimmings. We will be on the farm this Saturday and back at Farmers Market of the Ozarks next Saturday. We’ll be back with pork, grass finished beef and pastured eggs. See ya!

After 3 inches of rain last week, do we already need irrigation? No, this is spraying cold water on hot roofs to cool our pullets. While they didn’t need their sweaters, it did help a bit.

It’s hard to believe that in less than one week we’ve gone from heat lamps to fans pushing hot air out of the brooder house. But with this hot humid air with virtually no wind, even 6 day old chicks were panting today. While it seems to have suddenly got hot, it is late July.

Congratulations to Tim Swearengen, the winner of our Landers Lean Meats-America 250 Anniversary Raffle. Tim couldn’t make it to the market today, so he sent his son Isaac to pick up his prize of $50.00 worth of free meat! We want to thank our customers for coming out to the market today on this hot, sunny day.

The corn is looking great this year! We should have a bumper crop of organic high fructose corn syrup! I better start saving my used Dr. Pepper bottles. The corn may look w**dy, but I like to think that’s a crabgrass cover crop. We will be back at Farmers Market of the Ozarks this Saturday with eggs, pork and grass finished beef. Sorry, no corn syrup.

And just like that, we’re slowly sliding through the last half of 2026. Our days are beginning to shrink now. Our last batch of meat birds for this year arrived yesterday. These will be processed the day college football returns. Wow!

Another beautiful sunset last Friday in Dade County. We will be at Farmers Market of the Ozarks this Saturday with beef, pork and eggs. At 1:00, at the end of market this Saturday, we will draw from our entry box the one lucky winner of $50.00 of our products. You can enter all morning this Saturday with a $30.00 purchase from us. I know it’s not a W***y Wonka golden ticket, but a Landers Lean Meats burger or pork chop is a pretty good win too!

The chickens have come home to roost! After delivering the meat birds to a processor, they were processed and frozen and we picked them up this afternoon. These birds have been the best gainers we have ever had. You know what that means, leftover fried chicken! Or bbq or baked or cashew… We will see y’all next Saturday at Farmers Market of the Ozarks!
