This week at Burly Brothers Country Butchery we’re highlighting one of the most versatile cuts around — Flank Steak!
Flank steak comes from the lower abdominal area of the cow, giving it a rich, beefy flavor and a lean texture that steak lovers appreciate. While it’s naturally a tougher cut compared to ribeye or strip steak, the secret is all in the preparation — and when cooked right, it’s absolutely incredible.

👨🍳 Best Way to Prepare Flank Steak:
✔️ Marinate for at least 4–12 hours for maximum tenderness and flavor
✔️ Grill or sear HOT and FAST
✔️ Cook to medium rare or medium (overcooking can make it tough)
✔️ Let it rest before slicing
✔️ MOST IMPORTANT: Slice thin AGAINST the grain for the most tender bite
