Akaushi bull and our part Pharo red angus bull were killed by some maybe ex JBS workers(they left packing house knife) they were driving a sky blue 4 door Tundra. The bulls were so tame they just cut their throats. Cut Lil Red up an dragged him under the fence. About 3 saturdays ago.
Other wise we have been doing good, needed to have saved back more calves 2 years ago.

Exodus 12 Procuring a lamb for the passover. If his family is too small to eat a whole animal, he and his neighbor may share an animal. - Now the days of the calender don't match up with bible every year, 4 lambs will be ready Monday of holy week they are less then a year old ( in the past I did have some older than a year which I will no longer do.) Now as always if your family is too small we offer selling beef or lamb in the amount your family can afford. So the best is to tell me the dollar amount and I adjust the pounds.
So you say I don't know how to cook lamb, I say can you cook a beef roast, you do it the same but different spices. Now You say I can not cook a roast at all. Your not up the creek without a paddle. Go buy a paddle, It's a Lodge Cast Iron pan with a lid.
Seasoning I like to get Herbs De Provence from Natural Grocers or their Italian Seasoning (mostly because it's a bargan) you want garlic, rosemary and salt. I put it on the cook sat evening frozen 200 to 210 deg. if in the smoker I leave the lid off till I get up in the morning then put the lid on. When you get home from church lunch is ready. Wala magic!!! Look up Lodge Has a Pretty picture of roast in dutch oven wanted to add to post older kids at school.

Here is a great article about cattle & farming practices. 🚜 🐄

We are looking at beef all wrong. Factory-style farming is unsustainable, bad for the environment, and bad for our health—not to mention bad for the cows!

But cows are actually part of a cyclical ecosystem. Unlike fossil fuels, greenhouse gas emissions from cows aren’t a one-way street. Fossil fuels release greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere forever, but cattle can give back to the environment when left to graze at their own will.

Pasture-raised cows graze on grasses and eat the natural diet they have consumed for thousands of years. With factory farming, cows are brought up in harsh living conditions and are fed a diet of GMO soy, grains, and corn that is not evolutionarily appropriate.

The health of our soil determines the health of our planet. Right now, our soil isn’t very healthy. Harsh, industrialized agriculture practices like soil tilling, pesticides, and GMO wheat, corn, and soy monocrops deplete the soil of essential nutrients and sterilize it from beneficial bacteria. Over half of the world’s grains are used to feed conventionally raised livestock, while the rest is used to make industrially processed foods.

Our soil is capable of sequestering billions of pounds of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, but only if we act fast. The deeper we get into the climate crisis, the harder it's going to be to get out of it.

To learn more about regenerative agriculture in solving the climate crisis and fixing America’s food system, check out my book, Food Fix.

Grass-Fed

Hello we are a work in progress holistic, Farm and Ranch. We have no-tilled for 16 years, sold beef for 14 years and 10 years ago switched to Grass-fed. 6 years ago we changed bulls to Waygu/Akushi keeping with the “Tender and Good for the Heart” theme. The challenge for us is to begin Adaptive Grazing, which will have us rerouting water tanks. We have added Ramboullet sheep and have tasty lamb to offer.
