Some of you may have heard me joke about burning the farm down when times get real tough around here. With the pest issues, broken lawn mower, dead llama and the recently burst pipe it admittedly been in the back of my mind. Even more so when I know how damn good we would look doing it.

It took me a while to make this post, but our queen Loretta has fallen.

She lived into her late twenties and served the farm for almost 11 years as either a guardian to our other critters or entertainment to our guests.

Her memories will riddle the farm and the forest for years to come, but the farm just won't be the same without her.

Cheers Loretta and here's to hoping you and Phyllis are up there eating grass and kicking ass.

It's true, you may have heard me lamenting on how nice it has been this winter.

The true reason I lament is because I would like to sit in my house, play banjo, do puzzles and cook all day long guilt free.

Folks ask "Wouldn't it be nice to get a head start on weeding and have salad all winter long?"

The answer is "No! I prefer full throttle abuse from my farm in late March going forward and not a second before and I definitely don't want any salad greens until then either"

But hey....makes for some good pictures!

Happy 11 year anniversary to the farm! I am happy to announce we are still standing after another year. And as usual some things change and some stay the same. The images I am in are from 10 years ago and the others are from the last couple weeks of flooding-Photo Credit Nick Nerderman

With each year that passes and more folks come and go from our life, the farm continuously teaches me how to endure love, hate, death and most important how to truly savor the moments of unadulterated merriment.
