The Excaliblades Story
One of my earliest memories was watching my mother cook meals for the family in the kitchen. I learned a lot from her and at a young age I knew my way around the kitchen. Out of all the utensils used I was most intrigued by the knife. Every year for Christmas one of the gifts from my dad would be a pocketknife. He taught me what makes a quality knife and how to safely use an
d sharpen those knives. “The most dangerous knife is a dull knife”, he would tell me. As I grew older, I became obsessed with King Arthur and read every book, watched every movie, and researched the fact and fiction behind this legendary figure and his sword Excalibur. The concept that a sword could be so powerful as to make a man king by divine right and unstoppable in combat was something that reached me on a deep level. Over the years as I became more adept with my culinary skills, I went through my fair share of knives and always found them wanting. Whether this was the block of knives made by the names we all know or the chef knife with an already dull blade from the big box store. So, I decided to begin a quest with an objective bigger than me in mind. I would not rest until I found the dream blade that came straight out of the box sharp enough to handle any task I could throw at it. This knife also needed to balanced, durable, hold an edge, and look so beautiful that I would want to put it in a display case. I’ve done all the research and spent time and money on countless knives so you don’t have to. I now present to you a knife that would make my parents proud and is worthy of the name EXCALIBLADES!
