DIY Fruit & Veggie Wash 💧
Benefits:
🧼 Removes Pesticides & Dirt: A simple, effective solution for washing away surface pesticides, dirt, and bacteria from your produce.
🌱 Cost-Effective: Uses common household ingredients, making it a budget-friendly alternative to store-bought produce washes.
✨ Boosts Confidence: Gives you peace of mind that your fruits and vegetables are clean and ready to eat.
Ingredients:
3 parts water
1 part white vinegar
1 tablespoon baking soda (for extra cleaning power)
Instructions:
In a large bowl or a clean sink, mix the water and white vinegar.
Soak your fruits and vegetables in the solution for about 10-15 minutes.
For produce with firm skins, you can add a tablespoon of baking soda to the mixture to act as a gentle abrasive.
After soaking, scrub the produce gently with your hands or a vegetable brush.
Rinse everything thoroughly under cool, running water to remove any lingering vinegar taste.
Tips:
For a quick wash, you can mix the solution in a spray bottle and spray it directly onto the produce before wiping it clean.
This method is especially useful for non-organic produce.
Always wash your produce just before you're going to eat it, as washing and storing can lead to quicker spoilage.
