To our On The Edge Farm family,
After a lot of thought, we've made the decision to take this season off from our traditional pumpkin patch.
We're calling it our cocoon year.
This wasn't an easy decision, and one of the biggest reasons is all of you.
Over the years, we've realized that On The Edge Farm has become more than just a place people visit in October. For so many of you, coming to our farm has become part of your family's fall tradition.
We know there are families who plan their fall around visiting the patch. We see the familiar faces come
back year after year. We've watched kids grow up between pumpkin seasons. We've had teachers
bring new groups of students through our gates every year, and we've watched children meet farm animals for the very first time.
The fact that something our family created has earned a place in your family's traditions means more to us than we could ever properly put into words.
Thank you for that.
What started as a dream for our family became school field trips, kids covered in farm dirt, families making memories together, pumpkins leaving by the truckload, and a community that became part of our story.
We are incredibly proud of what this little farm has become.
But farming has also taught us something:
Not every season is meant for harvesting. Some seasons are meant for growing.
And this year, that's what we're going to do.
We're going to spend more time enjoying the farm with our girls. We're going to tackle projects we've
been dreaming about, improve the farm, raise our animals, grow some pumpkins, and give ourselves a
season to dream about what On The Edge Farm becomes next.
And we want to make one thing very clear:
WE ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE.
On The Edge Farm is still here.
The animals are still here. The pumpkins are still growing. The tractors will still break at the worst
possible time. There will still be dirt, projects, livestock, laughter, probably a little cussing, and all the
controlled chaos that makes this place ours.
We'll also still be offering our preordered fall porch packages with scheduled pickup, so you'll have
an opportunity to bring a little piece of On The Edge Farm home with you this fall.
We aren't closing a chapter.
We're simply giving ourselves one season to work behind the scenes, enjoy what we've built, make
improvements, dream a little bigger, and prepare for the next one.
To every family who has made us part of their fall...
To every teacher who has trusted us with their students...
To every kid who has loved on an animal, picked out the perfect pumpkin, or left here with muddy boots
and a story to tell...
To every friend, neighbor, and member of this community who has supported this crazy dream...
Thank you.
Knowing that some of you plan your fall around spending a day with us is one of the greatest
compliments this farm could ever receive.
So please don't read this as goodbye. It's not.
This is simply our cocoon year.
One season to grow.
One season to build.
One season to dream about what's next.
And we want everyone to know: the On The Edge Farm Pumpkin Patch WILL be back next year.
The gates will open again. The pumpkins will be waiting. The animals will be ready for all the attention,
and we'll be ready to welcome our community back to the farm.
After taking this year to grow, build, and prepare, we already know how special that first day back is
going to feel.
We can't wait to see all of you again.
Thank you for giving our family the opportunity to be part of your family's fall traditions.
We'll miss you this season.
But we'll see you at the patch next year.
