Dropped the kiddo off for her first day of school… Ruby decided today was the day to have her baby boy, and farmer Mat had to put on his big boy pants and go do farmer sh*t… all before 8:40 AM. 😂

And just like that, we now have FOUR boys! 💙

Grateful for flexible managers because apparently farm life doesn’t care what time your workday starts. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂🐮

Just another calm, peaceful morning on the farm… said absolutely no farmer ever. 😂

Today we welcomed the newest little cowboy to On The Edge Farm! 🤎🐂

Clover gave us a beautiful baby boy, sired by our handsome Rollo. 🥹🤎 (Texas Longhorn X Scottish Highland)

This is Clover’s first time being a mama, and, well… she’s currently in a little bit of denial about the whole situation. 😂

At first, she accepted her baby and even let him nurse. We thought, “Okay, Mama’s got this!” But then Clover decided she had somewhere else to be. She refused to go into the nursery ward with her baby and took off to pasture with the herd. 😬

We tried bribery. We tried patience. We tried convincing her that her baby is, in fact, pretty darn adorable. She was not interested. 😂

So tonight, we’re bottle-feeding our newest little guy with the colostrum he needs while we pray that Clover has a change of heart and decides being a mama is actually pretty cool. 🤞🏼

Hopefully she accepts him tonight or tomorrow, because otherwise we have a very long bottle-feeding journey ahead of us. 🍼

Of course, there’s always the possibility that one of our experienced mamas, Tootsie or Lucy, decides this little guy belongs to her. ❤️

For now, we’re keeping him warm, fed and loved and giving Clover some time to figure this whole motherhood thing out.

And now comes the fun part… HE NEEDS A NAME! 🥰

💵 HOW BOOKING WORKS

A $62.50 deposit is required to reserve your time slot.

The remaining $62.50 is due at the time of your visit.

🎟️ Time slots are first come, first served and are not reserved until the deposit has been received.

⏰ PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME!

Your 15-minute experience begins at your scheduled appointment time.

If you’re late, your session will NOT be extended.

For example: If your appointment is at 10:00 AM and you arrive at 10:10 AM, you will have 5 minutes remaining in your session.

No-shows forfeit their appointment and deposit.

📸 PLEASE NOTE: We are NOT providing a photographer. You are welcome to take your own photos and videos during your session!

🌾 FARM RULES

Because this is a working farm and we’re working with animals, we ask every guest to:

🤎 Respect the farm, animals, property, owners, and staff
🐮 Follow all instructions given during your visit
👧 Children must be supervised by their adults at all times
🚫 NO outside pets are permitted
🚫 No chasing, grabbing, climbing on, or otherwise stressing the animals
🚫 No outside food or treats for the animals
📸 Please be respectful of the animals and other guests while taking photos and videos

All animal interactions are supervised and subject to animal health, safety, and welfare. If our animals aren’t having a good day, we reserve the right to modify or end an interaction for their safety.

Today was freaking HARD. 😭

During our routine checks this morning, I noticed something was very wrong with this little guy. His breathing was incredibly labored—he was struggling to get enough air in and was open-mouth breathing and panting heavily. We called Ash Creek Vet, and after an emergency visit, we found out our little Chesty is fighting sepsis. 💔

There were a few moments today where we genuinely thought we were going to lose him. Watching a tiny, brand-new calf struggle just about broke us. We are so incredibly thankful for emergency veterinary care and for the people who showed up for him when he needed it most. ❤️‍🩹

And then… there’s the other side of farm life. 😅

You know, because apparently three kids need school clothes, we have a vacation coming up, and now we have an emergency vet bill. 🤯🫣

Was it in the budget? Absolutely not.
Did we hesitate? Absolutely not.
That’s just real life on a farm. You do whatever you have to do for the animals you love. ❤️

Tonight, we’re grateful to see Chesty standing, breathing, and getting some much-needed cuddles from Farmer Mat. 🥹🤎

AND because apparently today wasn’t dramatic enough… TOOTSIE HAD HER BABY TODAY TOO. 🐮😭❤️

So yeah… it was one of those days. A day filled with fear, exhaustion, vet bills, new babies, and a whole lot of gratitude.

Farming is beautiful. Farming is heartbreaking. Farming is expensive. Farming is exhausting.

And somehow… we wouldn’t trade it. 🤎
