Caitlin Peter's Pick: Clos Saint Jean Chateauneuf-Du-Pape Vieilles Vignes 2021
For over a century, the Maurel family has cultivated vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, establishing Clos Saint Jean as one of the region's most respected estates. Today, brothers Vincent and Pascal Maurel continue that legacy, crafting wines that beautifully express the unique terroir of the Southern Rhône. Sourced from the estate's oldest Grenache vines and supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre, the 2021 Vieilles Vignes delivers layers of black cherry, raspberry, garrigue, and spice. Rich and concentrated yet remarkably poised, it showcases the balance and elegance that define this classic vintage. Take advantage of great pricing (this week only) via the link in our story.
Melanie Kaman's Pick: Contratto For England Pas Dose Millesimato Alta Langa Rose 2017
Contratto started over 150 years ago and in 2011 was purchased by Giorgio Rivetti of La Spinetta fame. These are beautiful sparkling wines grown in the Piedmonte region in Italy, made by Method Champenoise. The For England Rose is a dry style made from 100% Pinot Noir and aged on the lees for 42 months. The finished product is extremely elegant and precise with hints of citrus peel, wild rose, mandarin and brioche. The palate is intense and well structured with notes of peach, thyme, and marzipan and has a lovely creamy texture. Enjoy with some prosciutto and melon this summer!
