Baker Family Cellars

Baker Family Cellars We're a family owned vineyard startup in the heart of the willamette valley. We want to share our journey with you.

In the fall of 2012, after a half decade of research and planning, we planted four acres of grapevine – nearly 8000 vines. Friends and family joined us over many weekends in the late fall to drill holes, carefully plant vine after vine, and share fun and laughter. Now in the spring, new buds are swelling and ready to start growing up trellises. The first bottles are still a few years off, but we w

ant to share with you our journey. Because it’s not always the end result that matters β€” the best stories are about how you get there.

It's with a heavy heart and much relief too, that we sold the farm. After a decade of fun and toil, raising farm dogs, living off the grid, building a new home with a custom gourmet kitchen; sharing the 80 acres with black bears, wild turkeys, coyotes, cougar, bobcats, deer, elk and redtail hawks; turning 4 acres of Pinot Noir vines into 1 acre instead of the planned 20 acres, we're moving our puppies to Banks, OR. πŸ€“

Life stood still. After 24 long months living completely off the grid in our RV on the vineyard, we moved into our newly built house just before Christmas 2017. In February, Paris was born to Hayley & Jaime. Deer, Elk and wild Turkeys invaded our backyard weekly all winter and spring. The family convened here for Mother's Day. We survived a hot summer building long fences that became huge kennels for our four Anatolian Shepard dogs while the weeds quietly took over the vines. Then finally, we bottled Pinot Noir vintage 2017 after one year aging in carboys. Crazy year. Maybe we're finally back on track.

Time for some long overdue catch up posts. This was our first Pinot Noir grape πŸ‡ harvest, September 2016. Expecting 10x bigger this year! We made 3 of the most lovely bottles of wine 🍷. We have excellent fruit.

Here's the first photo of our vineyard for 2017 and it snowed here last weekend, Feb 26th.
