Although it’s been a rainy start to the spring and summer, we have had some chances to start making hay again. The old equipment is working well and the hay is looking exceptionally good in many of our fields.

If you’re looking to stock up on high quality horse hay please message us for prices. We deliver or you can stop by the farm and we’ll load it. We’ll even work out a time to bale hay if you want to pick it up yourself right out of the field for a discount.

Our hay bales are comprised of a majority timothy and some orchard grass. Weather permitting, we’ll be making a few cuts this summer and into fall.

Trout Brook Farms specializes in high quality small square bales that are easy to handle for storing and feeding.

It’s the time of year we need to look out for babies on the farm…lots of fawns in the high grass. They’re so cute we want to pick them up….but that would give them a scent (they’re born without scent for protection) and make them vulnerable to predators.

A big thank you to the Lackawanna County Conservation District for facilitating the grant to install 2500 trees and shrubs here on the farm! As the years go by these trees and shrubs are going to change the landscape dramatically while providing a riparian buffer along Trout Brook and parts of our ponds and wet areas. Williams Forestry & Associates did an outstanding job laying out and planting everything. A great group of professionals all around that made it all happen! It’s just the beginning here on the farm. More exciting changes are in our future!

Trout Brook Farms is in the planning stages to expand its operations into equine facilities and event/venue operations!

Don't worry, we'll continue to offer top-quality hay to our customers as well. We will be replanting several hay fields this spring and increasing our production of high-end hay products. Additionally, we are planting a few acres of sunflowers and a small pumpkin patch this season!

We're going to be having lots of fun taking pictures and picking pumpkins this spring and fall. Those interested in taking photographs on the farm please reach out to us in the comments or message us.

Keep following us for updates as we continue to grow and serve our local area!
