So this is a new one. Our youngest turkey has decided that Nadja, the livestock guardian, is worthy of her love and would like to make tiny dogurkeys. She has been following her around all day long. It's adorable and fascinating all in one. Nadja is confused to say the least but being a good girl to her new "girlfriend".

Everyone, meet the newest addition to our herd! This girl will henceforth be known as Prudence to keep our "P" theme going! She came from a small herd in Santa Fe that were pets so she is incredibly friendly and people oriented. I have her in her own area right now for her isolation period but so far she seems like a healthy girl, aside from a small UTI. We should hopefully have that cleared in no time and in the blink of an eye, she will be in with the rest of the girls! Welcome to the family, Prudence! I'm so happy to have you here!

For those of you who are familiar with bucks, you'll understand why these cuddle sessions with my boy are few and far between. For those of you that are wondering why I wouldn't cuddle this handsome man every chance I got, male goats wear their urine as a VERY pungent cologne to attract the ladies and one shower is NOT enough to remove that smell. So, here I am sacrificing my own aroma for a bit to give this boy all of the loving he can handle. As you can see, he is eating it up!

This little doeling is just about ready to go to her own farm! Born on December 31st, she has been dam raised. Spunky, friendly, and everything a baby goat should be! She will have had her first CDT vaccine and is reliably eating hay, grain, and water. She has grown up around an LGD so is familiar with dogs.
