Update 4/29: I just finished my Bachelor's Degree and I am applying to grad school to hopefully earn a MA or PhD in Archaeology. It's a goal I have been working towards for over a decade around raising my kids and working full time. One of the requirements for the school I am applying to is that I need to complete an archaeological field school as a leveling course before coming into the program. Most field schools run during the summer months and I was accepted into one through the University of Minnesota. So I will be on location down by the twin cities for that on weekdays in June and July.

Unfortunately that means that we will not be able to offer the CSA this summer. Additionally, a few of the grant programs we were approved for previously, have also been cancelled this spring. So our plans to expand and put up a commercial size greenhouse to help with farm production will have to wait at this time.

We do hope to offer the CSA again next year. We are hoping to at least have a roadside stand with a smaller selection or join a local farmers market later in July or August. We want to say thank you to everyone that signed up with us or supported us last year. If you'd like to stay on an email list, I can let you know next year if we are able to start back up again.

If you are looking for another CSA for this summer, I would recommend checking out these two in Frederic:

If you are closer to the Minnesota side, Northern Harvest is always fantastic too:

March Updates: The website is down for a month or two while we switch servers and make a few changes for easier checkout for customers. We won’t be at attending our usual spring venues this year. I just finished my bachelor’s degree and am looking at graduate programs at this time and one of our kids is looking at going back to college and moving out, so we are focused on that this spring for the time being. We do hope to be back again next year. If you usually buy from us at any of those events, feel free to send a fb message and I can send you an invoice if you would like something shipped or delivered. I will have more updates on the CSA and markets towards the end of April. Thank you as always, to our followers and supporters!

Happy Wednesday! Our Cherry Belle and French Icicle Radishes are up and going crazy this week with the all the rain. More Tomato, Peppers, Cucumber and Broccoli transplants are going in tomorrow :)

We are almost at the end of the month and I just updated the website. As of this afternoon, we are down to only three Full Shares and three Half Shares left available for the season.

If you still want to join the CSA this year, now is the time to sign up. (We can still get you on a payment plan if you would like one. )

We are going to close to new members after June 1st, so that we can focus on our current CSA members for the year.

Time to highlight another leafy green variety we are growing this year and it is one of my personal favorites. Lacinato Kale also known as Tuscan or Dinosaur Kale! These plants produce large beautiful leaves with mild flavor that are perfect for eating fresh, in smoothies, cooked in dishes like minestrone or baked/dried with your choice of seasonings to create kale chips. They are also filled with vitamins A, K, C, and B6 as well as manganese, copper, calcium, and magnesium. If you are signed up for the CSA, you can look for these giant greens to start appearing in your boxes in July :)

We still have a handful of full and half shares available but we do recommend you get your order in to reserve your share soon!

We have extended the payment plan options if you need a little longer to pay the full amount. All we need by June 1st, is that first down payment.

As always please feel free to send us a message on Facebook or via our website if you have any questions about signing up for the CSA.

We might be out in the field planting over the next few weeks, but will get back to you as soon as we see your message.

It's planting time! Sorry we've been a little absent online this week. We are working hard to get all these early varieties planted. New pictures will soon follow. Transplants go in over the next couple weeks as well :)

We do still have CSA spots open for full and half shares if you would like to sign up. If you have any questions feel free to email, call or text. Text is usually the quickest way to reach me when I am out in the field.

Have a great week!

Happy Mother's Day weekend! We are getting so close out here. Irrigation lines are going down tomorrow and fencing is going up! We thought we would spotlight another beautiful vegetable variety we will be growing this season. This is Peacock Chard from High Mowing Organic Seeds! Chard is a eye catching and tasty way to add some flavor to your soup, Sautee, quiche or salad.

Speaking of Peacocks, we have a little flock out here that guards our property. That includes two males, Rise and Misty, who like to shake their tailfeathers. If you are out here for events later this summer please be aware, they are sweet but they will try to extort you to get treats. They are spoiled.

We do have a few full shares and half shares available if you are looking to sign up. Payment plans are also still available if you need a little more time to pay. We are always willing to work with you. Please swing us a message or feel free to use the chat option to contact us on the website too if you have questions about signing up!

Have a great weekend and don't forget to thank the mother's in your life. I know our farm would not have gotten this far without all the support from our moms.
