Rocking K Predator and Hog Control

I've been wanting to shotgun hunt coyotes for a while and many times have thought about filming some of my night hunts to go along with the videos I pull off my scope, but the whole being dark outside puts a damper on that. This morning I got up and decided it was time. I grabbed dad's shotgun he let me use last year when I first decided I'd give this crazy idea a try, loaded it up with the only #4 shot Wal-mart had to offer, dug out the $4 tripod I got off Amazon a while back to try recording hunts, and headed off to my honey hole.
Now the back story behind this, and where I want to give credit to, is the first time I saw Torry Cook smoke a yote a few yards away with a shotgun through a pine thicket, I knew I had to try it. And the last few weeks I've been hooked on the FOXPRO Podcast with Jon Collins, soaking in the vast wealth of knowledge between these guys and Big Al Morris about calling and killing coyotes.
I set up in a creek bottom where I always hear coyotes at on this property and let the X24 sing. Thanks to the incredible sounds of Foxpro and MFK Game Calls, this male came in hot to a series of pup distress. I couldn't believe I was able to get the angle right. Everything played together, the coyote came in at the right direction for me to pan my camera, paused long enough for me to get a bead on it and stopped perfectly in frame for me to get a shot. 11 steps from where I was sitting I had my first day time, shotgun, self filmed coyote laying on the ground. I may not find any physical rest on the weekends because of it, but the late nights spent calling to creatures lurking somewhere in the night, is the meditation and serenity I need to blow off the week before and prepare for the one ahead. 2 more down tonight with Brandon Gowder

Man what an awesome night getting to enjoy doing what I love after a rough week. Kelsie went on her first coyote hunt, took some awesome pictures and got to experience a successful hunt start to finish. Then dropped her off at home to relieve uncle Nicholas from watching the kiddos and tried out a new spot down the road. It took a ton of try to get this dude out of the woods but it paid off big time with this color phase. Now I need a taxidermist to tan a pelt. Suggestions?

I've been lacking on the page updates so I'll try to do a better job this year, but the coyote removal has not slowed down. Took out the biggest pair I've ever seen for a local farmer last night before slipping off to my dad's and picking up 3 more! Solo hunts have paid off well!

When your buddy let's you borrow his tire machine you take him hunting and take care of his coyote problem. #17 for the year and #4 off his property in the last year.

#16 for the year and tied last years count in just 5 months. This one came in as a pair so fast they got to my call before I could put down my spotting scope and split. He made the mistake of stopping to figure out what it just saw and it was lights out.

A lot of people tell me, "I don't hear them around here much". My response is always, "They're there." Walked outside with my thermal last night to see what the dogs were barking at and there were deer in the back field by the kennel. Walking back to the house I looked in the cow pasture where my calves are at and here comes this yote sneaking their way. In the house I sprint to get my .308 and I'll tell ya, they're just as fun to shoot off a picnic table as they are hunting them. 😂
160yd shot to the chest and #15 laid down for a nap. No calves for you tonight buddy.

Some of the best hunting is where you would least expect it, Dacula off all places. But if there are calves around the coyotes are soon to follow.
