Beautiful morning up at the top of the grain elevator while cleaning peas! Yes, cream peas will be available by next week! For two years, we have not been able to plant peas because of lack of water. The harvest was affected by the lack of water, but we are so thankful. My grand kids will be so excited.

Buck wheat blooming. If you can listen closely you can hear all the pollinators. Music to my ears.

We are so grateful for the rain showers we have received these past few days. The newly planted peas and sorghum are sprouting up quickly. The corn is also responding well to this liquid sunshine!

Glorious morning after a storm! The wheat harvest is done! And we are encouraged by what we have to offer our faithful customers and new friends as well. Be on the lookout at dayspringfarmsga.com for new updates. The corn is very happy and flourishing with our recent rains. And we plan to spend a weekend with some of our family.

The harvest began last Friday. So far we have Phoenix, a hard red winter wheat as you see it in the tote. Soft white wheat was harvested yesterday and Appalachian hard white winter wheat! Even with all the difficulties of drought and then abundant rain, the wheat looks great! We will be posting the new crops online as soon as they are cleaned and tested.
Make sure you follow us and check out dayspringfarmsga.com in the next few weeks.

Evening ride around DaySpring Farms checking the progress of the wheat. The first photo is of soft white wheat getting close to harvest. The second is our heirloom Rouge de Bordeaux. The third is a hard white winter wheat, and the fourth is a new hard red wheat we are trying, called Phoenix. The last picture needs no explanation! So thankful for any crop during these times of drought.
