The harvest began last Friday. So far we have Phoenix, a hard red winter wheat as you see it in the tote. Soft white wheat was harvested yesterday and Appalachian hard white winter wheat! Even with all the difficulties of drought and then abundant rain, the wheat looks great! We will be posting the new crops online as soon as they are cleaned and tested.

Evening ride around DaySpring Farms checking the progress of the wheat. The first photo is of soft white wheat getting close to harvest. The second is our heirloom Rouge de Bordeaux. The third is a hard white winter wheat, and the fourth is a new hard red wheat we are trying, called Phoenix. The last picture needs no explanation! So thankful for any crop during these times of drought.
