Been a busy few weeks here at HQ. After the Jack draw, we went to Trillium BBQ Throwdown and had less than stellar results. Congrats to Smokin' Hoggz BBQ on the GC and to Darren Warth and on RGC and Thanks to Hog Wash BBQ for organizing.
One could have sat and dwelled but instead we do as we do, channeled our inner Bill Belicek and on to the next event which was the Kora Kares for Kids Ride In & BBQ. This event just gets better and better year after year and was great to see so many teams from all corners of the country.
Saturday, we turned in some tasty Jalapeno Poppers for people choice and Jack 19 turned in some even more tasty ‘Anything Maple Bacon Cheesecake Cups’ and continues his improvement at this event finishing 7th out of 29 Kids Q Teams. This was all the more special as he managed to bring home a repurposed trophy that we won 9 years ago ( )
We also participated in the One Meat RIbs which was followed by the now World Famous Rib Auction hosted by Chad Humphrey and Nicole Humphrey Was an absolute blast and raised over $25,000 for the Shriners Hospital. The power of BBQ and People! - Better start planning on how to top it next year! Congrats to Brian Dwyer for having the best ribs and to Darren Warth for being the top rib earner.
Sunday was KCBS with 51 teams and while we only managed a 4th place ribs, finished 5th overall in a stacked field. What a difference a week makes!
Congrats to Luke Darnell and Old Virgina Smoke for an incredible turn in and GC, and tickets to the Jack, the Royal and Vegas ( ) and to smoke.sisters.barbecue_ on their RGC and ticket to Vegas! And to Say My Name BBQ, Smokin' Hoggz BBQ and ElJefe Smoke on their 180s and Tim Rogers on their 700+! and to everyone else who heard their name.
Shoutouts to Kathy and Tom from Inclusive BBQ Events who did an amazing job with the event as did Chad and Nicole on the auction and to the whole team for putting it all together - Can’t wait till next year!

As for now we have a few weeks off and then the grind begins with trips to VT, the Royal and the Jack over a 4 week period.

I promised someone last night that if anything happened today, I'd get back to posting and updating. Well, it did, and I'm keeping my side. Am truly lucky and honored to be invited back to 'The Jack'.
Congratulations to all our northeast friends who also got the call!

We're starting the road to #7 this weekend Trillium Brewing Company in Canton, MA.

The curtain finally came down on the 2026 BBQ Season with the Annual Awards Banquet in Kansas City, MO last night and while we were unable to attend, we did have a representative there to accept our awards – We’ll call him elPaddy.

Before reviewing awards, we want to take a moment to congratulate our good friends Bill, Shaune and Alan from on their induction to the Kansas City Barbeque Society Hall of Fame. It’s a true testament to the countless hours of dedication that they have put into this sport and are an inspiration to all of us up here in the Northeast.

In terms of awards, we ended up 16th overall in the US with a 25th place Chicken and a 6th place Ribs bolstering the effort, all of which makes us extremely proud.

Congrats to all the other teams that we compete against up here for overall and category place finishes:

And lastly a huge congrats to and for overall Team of the Year as well as capturing 3 of the 4 individual category crowns. A truly dominant performance over the year.
Congrats to everyone else who heard their names called also.

And lastly, if someone could tell mother nature that the first contest is only 7 weeks away that would be great.
