Specializing in driving training from solid foundations for trail and pleasure to breed shows and the art of carriage driving. Royal Edelweiss Stables is owned and operated by Lucy Droleskey. Although born into a non "horsey" or farming family, she has been attracted to them for as long as she can remember. From pony rides before she could walk to formal lessons and studying disciplines, genetics
and rare breeds, her love of horses only grew stronger. Although initially focusing on classical dressage and the Arabian breed, Lucy was fortuitously introduced to the American Miniature Horse by a neighbor and became interested in driving for pleasure, though it would be a few years before competition became a goal. Forever trying to learn as much as she can and always striving toward a bigger goal, even her wildest dreams were surpassed when she began showing the incredibly versatile miniature, capturing eight National and World titles in a single year, in driving, jumping, halter, hunter and in-hand trail in addition to a prestigous Horse of the Year award. A compliment from a carriage driver led her to research the world of CDE and Carriage Pleasure and opened a vast new range of goals that appealed to her love of dressage and history. She is currently chasing even bigger dreams in both disciplines while she manages a small breeding herd of extremely select American Shetlands. One of her passions has also been helping others with their horses, particularly the ones deemed problems or who need to overcome obstacles. To that end she offers training for all types of miniature classes and driving lessons especially geared toward safely starting or restarting horses and working with their drivers to establish a solid foundation and relationship built on trust and hours of groundwork. Another successful branch recently has been marketing, both with training consignment horses and helping to connect the right person with the right horse.
