A quick check on the cows after church turned out to be another farm workout (mostly for Spencer 😁). Momma left her new baby in the sun too long and she didn’t have much energy left. Once she was in the shade and back with momma she seemed to be just fine!

Some things are worth waking up for, and bacon is definitely one of them. 🥓

Our heritage breed pork is raised with care right here on our farm, then cured from the belly and sliced into the thick, flavorful strips that make breakfast (and just about everything else) better.

Our garden truly paints with every color of the rainbow. 🌶️🍅🌿

Fresh-picked peppers, onions, herbs, and tomatoes have made their way from the fields to our kitchen. Eating the rainbow is one of the best ways to savor all the flavors summer has to offer!

Sometimes it’s just too hard to find Mom, so you call for a ride. This pasture is planted in sorghum sedan grass, which is great for the hot summers, but sometimes gets a little too tall for the calves to find their way.

Who knew corn could have such fabulous hair? 💁🌽

Those bright magenta tassels are called corn silk, and every strand connects to a single kernel on the ear. Once pollination is complete, the silk dries down, the kernels begin to fill, and before long it'll be harvest season!
