🐣 MEET THE FLOCK FRIDAY πŸ₯

We would like to introduce Mildred JoAnn AKA "Millie Jo" who joined our flock in March. She may look judgy and full of attitude, but this one is as sweet as they come. If she hears your voice, she will come running top speed, p**f blowing in the breeze, just to perch on your lap or arm. If that doesn't work she will follow you around letting her presence be VERY known until you pick her up. Her and all of her March flock mates have the sweetest temperament we have seen in a long time. Next week we will introduce her big haired sister named, Betty. She's a beaut. 🀣

Happy "Supra" Saturday! 🌞

We are so excited to announce several new additions to the farmstead. The first being a beautiful, young just off-the-track thoroughbred named Supra. She is a tall, affectionate and incredibly smart girl who is the granddaughter of the American Triple Crown Champion, Secretariat. Highly recommend the movie Secretariat if you haven't watched it. It's a good one!

Then on the shorter side of things we have our new farmstead favorite, Raymond. The tiny donkey/mule combo with a BIG personality. Raymond loves treats, being lazy, sunbathing and pretending he runs the show. This unique little guy is actually a hinny. A hinny is a rare equine hybrid, the offspring of a male horse (stallion) and a female donkey (jenny). Journey and Raymond have become quite bonded and Raymond gets quite upset when his tall girls go to the arena to train. When Raymond gets to go, he feels like the king of the arena. He acts like it too!

It's always a good time on the farmstead! As always, Frank and Petey, the very vocal toms, are here to greet ya if you want to schedule a time to visit and feed the flock. Stay tuned for a sneak peek of the fun new breeds of chicks joining the farmstead family!

Spring is one of our most favorite times of year on the farmstead. It's amazing how much change can happen in just a few weeks. We are so excited to share that our annual sunflowers have been started and transferred. Let's keep our fingers crossed for no more freeze/frost warnings. Bring on the sunshine and sunflowers!

It was a brisk, but fun-filled fall day on the farmstead. It was cool outside, but the store was nice and toasty. Thanks to everyone who ventured out. Loved seeing all the kiddos in costume! We can't wait to see more farmstead friends tomorrow from 11am-2pm.

🌻 It's harvest time on the farmstead! 🌻

Our feathered friends are reaping the benefits of the sunflowers that were planted around the farm this spring. It's finally time to harvest the seeds and share them with our chickens and turkeys.

Did you know that sunflower seeds are a healthy snack and a fantastic source of protein for your flock?! They contain healthy fats and vitamin E. Each seed is filled with 20% protein making them a great treat option. We planted this year's crop with our nitrogen dense alpaca fertilizer and had one of the best harvests yet!

IT'S SELFIE SUNDAY πŸ“Έ ⚑

Let's have some fun and see some of your favorite selfies of you and your furry or feathered friends!

Here is a throw back to Ophelia and Dyna enjoying Cinco de Mayo with me a couple years ago! Yes, they completely tolerate all my shenanigans and fun on the farmstead. 🀣
