4E Red Angus

4E Red Angus We raise Red Angus in east Washington, where cold winters and hot summers shape hardy cows.

Our goal is to develop feed-efficient cattle that thrive in sagebrush country. We focus on good growth, width, and sound structure—genetics built do well anywhere. We aspire to develop Red Angus genetics that will excel in any environment. Medium, deep bodied, muscular cattle with a strong focus on good calving ease and wide pelvics in our cows. Our cattle are hardy and can raise a good calf in dry sagebrush country. If you're looking for Four E Farms beef, please see our Four E Farms page.

When I'm looking to buy a bull, scrotal development is one of the first things I check. Even in yearling bulls, I like to see a little swing to the family jewels. They don't have to swing like a mature bull, but I also don't want excess fat there. The bull pictured below is a good example — at only 13 months old, you can clearly see a well-defined testicular shape and a scrotal sac that doesn't thicken at the top.

What's the first thing you look at when you're buying a yearling bull?

I’m a little behind on sharing the bulls and bred cows we picked up this spring, but this guy is too good not to spotlight. He’s one of the two bulls we've bought and we’re absolutely thrilled about him. His sire is PIE Hollywood 222—the highest‑selling bull in the entire Red Angus breed—bringing an incredible $400,000. His dam is a standout female sired by MRLA Resource 137E, another bloodline we’ve been admiring.

He’s currently turned out with our heifers, and we’re already excited for the calves he’ll sire next year. Big things ahead for our program.

My husband's favorite cow, it's easy to see why. 🥰 hard to see in the picture, but even her waddle has a thick, muscular brisket. She's such a pretty girl and a real sweetheart.

After several years of saving her earning from selling market steers at the fair, Jolene was able to purchase her first registered heifer from the prestigious Bet on Red sale down in Reno, NV!

Introducing Lost Crk Chris 5165, or as Jolene has already lovingly nicknamed her, Christine.

A huge thank you Lost Creek Ranch - Red Angus for offering such a tremendous heifer! Jolene is over the moon!
