The combination of balance of wine tastes (acidity, tannin, and sweetness) and flavor profile in rosรฉ wine makes it pair well with a variety of food flavors.โฃ

Rosรฉ can be delicate enough to pair with a salad, fish, chicken, or vegetarian dishes. However, depending on the style and grape varietal used, it can have enough structure to shine with dishes that have more flavor and intensity like grilled fish, pizza, pork and even beef. โฃ
One of my favorite pairings is rosรฉ wine with a charcuterie and cheese board. Experiencing the pairing combination with a range of flavors on a board is so much fun.โฃ

The natural grape sugar remaining in the wine after alcoholic fermentation is referred to as residual sugar (RS). โฃ

Ultimately, we are looking for โ€œbalanceโ€ in wine. A balance of sweetness, acidity, tannins, fruitiness, and alcohol. Winemakers can use RS as one of the levers to create balance in a naturally unbalanced wine.โฃ

Did you know most wines are classified as โ€œdryโ€? Fruitiness is often mistaken for sweetness. How can you distinguish the difference? The easiest way is to pay attention to the tip of your tongue. This is where you taste sweetness. If you do not sense sugar on the tip of your tongue but the wine tastes sweet to you, then it is probably fruity! โฃ

To perfect this concept, give each glass of wine you drink a few minutes to โ€œtasteโ€ and discover its beautiful qualities. Pay attention to the level of sugar you identify on the tip of your tongue. โฃ
