LAST DAY OF HANJI 🐧🥺

I wasn’t sure which picture would be best for the post of our last day and finally decided on this one. This particular pic was chosen because I believe it’s meaningful to close a chapter by looking back and reflecting. This photo shows the beginning stage of Sweet Tooth (iykyk) where it was just team Di and Tanny in pastel blue apron (fun fact: it was color of the year which matched our color themed perfectly), no uniform, no logo embroidery/imprint.

We opened the store with only 6 flavors of snow cream and boba tea plus minimal topping selection; throughout the years more flavors of snow and boba were invented and more topping options added. What didn’t change is the love and passion of introducing the most authentic Taiwanese taste using the most natural ingredients to South Florida.

We opened the store with just Di and I working FOH and now we have a team full of capable and kind hearted people. Team members come and go but some turned into family.

We opened the store with no fame and few followers on social media and now we have all of you who not only enjoy our desserts, but also care about us, stick through the pandemic with us, and recognize what we stand for. How lucky are we to have such loving and supportive community ✨

5+years—what we thought was just a business turned out to be so much more. We are genuinely grateful for meeting so many wonderful people and working alongside great souls that we otherwise wouldn’t have.

Thank you guys for a great ride—the good and the bad, ups and downs—all of it! Our hearts are filled with gratitude and we’re sad to end our journey here.

Happy Saturday! 🐧✨

We still cannot believe the outpouring love we’ve been receiving these past two weeks. Thank you all for showing up and for your patience when the line gets long and work station gets backed up. Can’t be more grateful for such a supportive community 💕

We’ve learnt a lot through the rushes and adjusted some things along the way. To be more efficient and serve every order in a timely fashion, we’d like to share some rules we will follow for the last two days of Hanji:

1️⃣ Online pickup order will be closed. We’re keeping in-store *self-serve kiosk* and *QR code ordering* only.
2️⃣ No deliveries will be available.
3️⃣ We’re rationing out snow block inventory which means limited quantity for different flavors and when they run out they’re out.
4️⃣ When regular boba option is missing it’ll be due to us stretching out the stock so more customers get to enjoy it.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope you will get to enjoy SoFlo’s best boba and snow before we close our doors permanently at 4 pm tomorrow (11/28).

CARAMEL HOJICHA 🍂

We’d like to dedicate a shout out to this proud and delicious invention—Caramel Hojicha 🤎—and the photographer of this beautiful photo whose name shall not be revealed 😝

It’s been a year since we released Caramel Hojicha last November. Like most other specials, this 2020 November special was a hit and became many’s favorite instantly. So of course upon popular demand we kept it permanently 🥰

We hand whisk authentic Hojicha powder by .co on demand and sweetened it with our homemade vegan caramel sauce (original recipe by ). This yumminess is made with Oat Barista and completely dairy free & vegan 🌱

We just got more stock of the Hojicha powder, thanks to the kindest supplier .co, and should have it available until the very last day!

Come grab one before it’s gone forever after 11/28!

I’m glad I could make memes for you guys 🥺

Today’s the final and I just want to tell everyone thank you for your love and support for not just me but the entire Hanji family. While this was short lived, I loved the idea of making content for others to enjoy and am glad I had the opportunity to. Like some of you I wasn’t really big on boba until I was introduced to Hanji. Ever since, boba hits differently and I owe it all to them. Seeing all the messages and support that come through because of the closing makes me realize that Hanji was just so much more than a boba shop. People were able to create so many memories and connect so many people because Hanji was all about love,from the owner to the team members and the customers that come. I would like to say thank you if Hanji was also a part of your life too.

The outpouring support from you guys these past few days has been incredible and we are savoring every moment of your visits before our last day 🥺💕

Our sincere apologies to those who didn’t get boba, milk pudding, rice balls, taro balls or strawberries on their orders this week. We are doing our absolute best to catch up with demand but we make almost everything in house from scratch so when things are going out fast it’s very hard to keep up with cooking while having to take care of timely order making.

Despite how much we’d love to see you guys sit down and enjoy our desserts inside the store for the last time, we apologize for not being able to add bussing tables to our already full plate. It gets overwhelming during peak hours and that’s basically all day on weekends.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you this weekend or any day before 11/28! 🐧

Do you remember the time our and were just seasonal specials available for only one month out of the year? 😃 These none purple drinks are so delicious that many of you requested for them to stay permanently. And viola! They’re now staples on our menu! ✨

Preparing taro sauce is a long process that took us a while to incorporate into our daily cooking schedule but seeing you guys enjoy our teas makes it all worth it! 🥰

Hanji is closing permanently in two weeks.

Our store lease will be up end of November and Di and I have made the hardest decision to end our journey with Hanji here.

Our last day open will be Sunday 11/28.

This is a two weeks’ notice as a proper farewell to all of you. Our store will continue to serve takeout only on weekdays from 11 am to 9 pm because we’re still pretty understaffed. We’re still debating and considering the possibility of opening limited seating on weekends, with no restroom available*, so those who have fond memories at our shop get to enjoy one (or two) last time here. We will keep you posted!

Sweet Tooth/Hanji has been a big part of our lives for almost 6 years and we’re grateful for our amazing team and the unwavering support from you guys. We hope you will plan a visit to see us before we close our doors ✨

*we respectfully ask you to understand that while we ask our very hardworking team to strive for the best until the very last day, we will not open up restroom to cause them any emotional distress. They’re our No. 1 priority 🙏
