When we first moved here, my husband started a garden. He said the best thing for the soil was compost. He found some at a local horse farm and brought some home. I don't know how much he brought or how he turned it into the dirt, but what I do know is our harvest was way more than I expected. Our garden is much smaller now, and we have plenty of well aged compost from our horses and cattle.
Come with your pickup or trailer and haul it away. Only $5/half yard. Your garden will appreciate it.
DM for more information.
And yes, that was part of our harvest that year!
